I rate him highly, but he could be soooooooooooo much better.
He arrived with a bang, scored that overhead gaol vs Everton and I think it's gone to his head somewhat.
He suffers from tunnel vision and can only see a shot, rather than a pass.
If that can be trained out of him and he learns to see the big picture I think he could be absolutely world class.
Oh, he must also learn to stop falling over so bloody easily!
Snap.
I just don't see Garnacho playing the No. 10 role or wing back role consistently well, the way Amorim wants. Perhaps he could have been given a few years to learn and develop, but probably better off at a side that plays a wide midfielder. And if they are willing to sell, his value may be higher if they get rid sooner rather than later.
No idea what's happened to Mainoo, other than he is young and likely to have dips. Maybe contract talks have put him under more pressure, given his demands. But, still a lot of potential for him in the 4 central midfield roles
The whole Mainoo and Garnacho situation conflicts me. Talent that has come through the system that we potentially have to sell to recruit.
Garnacho is ahead of where Elanga was at 20 and Elanga has had a great season. He’s far from the finished product but imo is worth sticking with. Ultimately he’s an impact player who’s had to start all season because we’ve no one else.
Mainoo at 20 is ahead of other midfielders we’ve had. Hes also been unlucky with injury this year. Mainoo is box to box and is equally as good attacking or defending. I don’t think we can replace him with anyone as good at 20yo.
If I was Utd, I’d be more concerned / focused about getting Rashford, Casemiro, Antony and Sancho off the books. I read that Chelsea won’t be triggering the £25m buy out clause for Sancho and will have to pay UTD £5m as part of the deal to take him back ??? Tells you all you need to know.
