I rate him highly, but he could be soooooooooooo much better.
He arrived with a bang, scored that overhead gaol vs Everton and I think it's gone to his head somewhat.
He suffers from tunnel vision and can only see a shot, rather than a pass.
If that can be trained out of him and he learns to see the big picture I think he could be absolutely world class.
Oh, he must also learn to stop falling over so bloody easily!
Snap.

I just don't see Garnacho playing the No. 10 role or wing back role consistently well, the way Amorim wants. Perhaps he could have been given a few years to learn and develop, but probably better off at a side that plays a wide midfielder. And if they are willing to sell, his value may be higher if they get rid sooner rather than later.

No idea what's happened to Mainoo, other than he is young and likely to have dips. Maybe contract talks have put him under more pressure, given his demands. But, still a lot of potential for him in the 4 central midfield roles

The whole Mainoo and Garnacho situation conflicts me. Talent that has come through the system that we potentially have to sell to recruit.

Garnacho is ahead of where Elanga was at 20 and Elanga has had a great season. He’s far from the finished product but imo is worth sticking with. Ultimately he’s an impact player who’s had to start all season because we’ve no one else.

Mainoo at 20 is ahead of other midfielders we’ve had. Hes also been unlucky with injury this year. Mainoo is box to box and is equally as good attacking or defending. I don’t think we can replace him with anyone as good at 20yo.

If I was Utd, I’d be more concerned / focused about getting Rashford, Casemiro, Antony and Sancho off the books. I read that Chelsea won’t be triggering the £25m buy out clause for Sancho and will have to pay UTD £5m as part of the deal to take him back ??? Tells you all you need to know.

Does anyone know what day PGMOL announce the referees/assistant referees for the next weekend's PL games?

Only asking because Forest have got a game which is possibly the most important and future-defining one we've had for a generation. And I just want to know how long I've got left to retain the bit of hope that I have, before finding out that they've appointed Anthony Taylor to be in charge for it.

Cheers (y)

I CALLED IT.

I BLOODY WELL CALLED IT TWO DAYS AGO.

Paranoia? Tin foil hat? Nope. Just more evidence the PL bloody hate us and don’t want us in the CL spots ahead of their Preferred Six.

I’m calling it now. There will be a massive moment in our game that controversially goes against us. And Anthony ****ing Taylor will be slap bang in the middle of it. 🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡

We’re not on an even playing field!

Agreed. If City want MGW, there's talk of Grealish being included in the deal. Lots of talk of pen about to be put to paper on a deal worth *115 million oil pounds, plus Grealish included as a sweetener. (y)

*This number later to be reduced to zero.
Imagine how many free kicks you will get!😉

But it’s a gamble by MGW that he might just take the place on the bench Grealish leaves.
I would think twice given most teams would be interested.

I really really want to keep Mainoo. He showed unbelievable potential last year, and despite this being a poor season, he is very young (only recently turned 20). Depending on players in squad next season, perhaps a loan deal could help him play regular football and develop as a player. Or maybe they can find a way to develop him at Utd, but would hate to lose him permanently.

A lot of the above could be said for Garnacho as well. If Amorim can't find a place for him regularly in the side next year, I'd rather give him a chance to go on loan rather than leave permanently. Seemed to work well for Amad. But, if Utd are desperate to free up cash, Garnacho seems the most likely to leave I think, Mainoo more likely to stay. As much as he could improve a great deal over the next 3-5 years, the sad fact is will be Utd can't wait that long. Will he be massively better next season? Will he be able to develop at all if there isn't an improvement in the players around him, including the character of the players? Utd may need to look to trim out some of the inexperience, for experienced and confident players, just for better balance. At least in attacking positions.

In terms of Sancho, I just feel he is really really average. I struggle to believe anyone that says he is a better player at Chelsea, I just don't see it. He's played 30 times in the PL this year, but only played 90 mins 8 times, and less than 60 minutes (not including no starts) 14 times. His contract ends in 2026, so perhaps a club can be found for him a bit more easily, but I don't think the big clubs will be queuing up for him, wanting to get anywhere near matching his salary. Rashford's contract doesn't end until 2028, but I suspect his highlights package might fool a big club into investing in him, perhaps they may even get the best out of him, but it is a huge risk. Antony has seemed to have done well, and so perhaps he will have a lot of interest in Europe, and he may feel happier being away from England anyway?

Casemiro has become an interesting one. Contract up in 2026 anyway, and maybe he will leave. But, at 32, and suddenly showing how valuable his experience can be in Europe, I can't say I'd be surprised if he stays or if Amorim has warmed to him. If Utd can develop a much stronger attacking team, who can better hold onto the ball and compete with the physical battle up top, the need for a defensive midfielder that can run his socks off is probably less critical. A Casemiro may still have a lot to offer

Well I guess it’s the biggest game of the weekend and they appear to see him as their best referee

And yeah it’s paranoia in the same way that Tierney is very biased against Liverpool

I think the theory is:

"Just more evidence the PL bloody hate us and don’t want us in the CL spots ahead of their Preferred Six."

There is no evidence for that, thus it is a conspiracy theory.

And, all the whining about such theories, is it not disrespectful to other clubs? After all, you might struggle against them, not get the rub of the green in certain moments, make mistakes, etc regardless of the officials? Perhaps teams that end up finishing above you in the table actually deserved to finish above you in the table? Perhaps some of these clubs had many moments of frustration due to human error, including from officials?

I'm sure Taylor has made a few decisions that have gone your way, causing complaints from opponents? Are these decisions remembered in as much clarity as the ones that didn't go your way?

Of course it's Anthony Taylor. The ONLY positive is that Chelsea fans hate him as much as we do, so hopefully he'll know he owes us one and will send them packing.

Obviously that won't happen and he'll award Chelsea a pen for Sels catching the ball in his own area. 🙃

I do believe that Peps scratches were due to a dalliance with a member of the female staff at City which caused a marriage break up. ☹️

I think looking ahead, it might be a good idea to put your chairman in a straight jacket for the game. Putting a gimp mask over his head might help as well. Otherwise he is going to lob someone in the Trent. 😖

To be fair, It'll probably be Gary Neville....and literally everyone will thank him for it.
