So it’s as I said - they will pay or he will stay

Should be no reason to let him go early - club certainly don’t own him or Madrid anything favours

Trent said a lot of stuff about the club over the years about his dreams and desires with the club and him leaving in this manner will leave a sour taste for many

He won’t get the same level of support over there that he is afforded here

There is always going to be the odd extreme reaction across fans when a player leaves

Trent is a local lad and for a lot of the young lads someone to look up to - playing for your home club and living the dream , it wasn’t that long ago he was declaring his desire to captain the club to glory and live out his career there

But he has decided to go down a different path - I have no doubt Madrid have been at him for a few years now to get to this point where they don’t pay for him , it’s a regular thing for them

Some will question if he has strung club along with contract talk and always wanted to go to Madrid

The timing for me is prob because he wants to get out early to play in the CWC for them

Also with the state of Madrid right now it’s an intriguing choice

But it’s his to make - many will see him a little differently now within the city , he won’t be alongside the like of Gerrard etc but then I don’t think he has ever had that strong a connection - fans prob more connected to the likes of Salah

It’s a shame he is leaving because I think he is a quality player and we will miss his ability - he should do well in Madrid but next season will be interesting for them , any issues he does have the fans won’t be sympathetic about it or give him any sort of leeway

If Liverpool have no games, what would be the purpose of holding on to his registration for another month? Bitterness that he is leaving?

If he is going, surely it would be better to get him out of the club as quickly as they can, if there is no more games he can have an impact in anyway? It would also surely mean that it would save Liverpool having to pay him about a months wages, which would be the best part of £1 million

He has a contract until 30th June - he can pay himself out of it if he wants to leave early or Madrid can pay it

It suits Madrid for him to be let go early so I’m ok with them having to wait

Pettiness. It does no one any favours. TAA wants to go, Real want him and there isn't anything he can play in that matters. I am sure other players have gone early as it is the right thing all round

So, you are saying there are no circumstances a Club should consider releasing a player from a contract early (other than disciplinary matters)? Any contract that is ever terminated early must be done so by the player buying it out? Even if the Club can benefit from terminating the contract early, they shouldn't?

Always some circumstances - has it happened before ?

Can’t recall it with anyone leaving a club either is transferred for a free or waits until the contract ends

Cant recall many contracts being terminated to benefit the club the player is going to

Madrid are well known to want to get players for free - so if they want him for free he signs when his contract ends

I wouldn’t expect Madrid to allow someone to leave early to benefit another club

If they really want him for the CWC then there is a method there for them to achieve that
