My posts tend to get long, so decided I'd save you all from my reaction to that game. I'll release the journal in due course

Lyon will be kicking themselves (and would probably miss)....2 goals to the good with just six minutes left and a man down....not sure that Bilbao will be so naive if they are in a similar position in the semi final.

Spurs must be thinking all their Christmases have come at once with the win tonight in Frankfurt and avoiding Lazio in the semis....though BodoGlimt will be a very much unknown quantity for them and have done really well, considering they've played many of their Europa League matches during what has been their "off-season"....they are only 2 games in to their current domestic league season.

Still....all good for the English European Co-efficient

Thought about it, I won’t lie!

First half, really good. Then the game should have been dead and buried only for Garnacho to make an utter hash of probably the best chance of the game.

For the next twenty minutes and then into extra time, we saw the United we have seen too often this season.

But those last six minutes were utterly mental. Never known an atmosphere like it at OT in all my years going, and I’ve seen some big games there over the years. What made it all the sweeter was Lyon’s antics when they thought they had the game won, and the time wasting which went unpunished by a very poor referee.

Bruno? Outstanding. As was Maguire. And I tip my hat to Onana. Thought he had an excellent game.

Time for bed. I’m all in.
