Bizzare tactics from Real who seemed intent to put cross after cross in against a defence that would eat it up.

Rice and Timber were especially good and so was Martinelli. Top tier performance and very few better away performances in the CL by an English side that I can remember. To go to the defending Champions and make them look bang average takes some doing.

I think Real are still trying to find the right balance with their front three and they lack a peak Kroos/Modric type of midfielder.

Real Madrid have been poor all season in the CL - there was a distinct lack of creative quality on show

And they had Odegaard on their books

Bellingham is a good box to box playing and Valverde a good runner with Tchouameni the base but the whole plan seemed to be give it to Mbappe and ask him to do it all

The likes of Rodrigo and Vinicius were annoymous

I think Saka will have had suitors after his performances for club and country and again I think Arsenal will need to be strong to keep hold of their top players. They are on the verge of getting a squad together to give Liverpool and City a run in the PL for a good few seasons and compete in the CL. If City have to go through a rebuild it could be a two horse race for the PL next season.

Think Rice announced himself as a top player and I am sure a few big clubs in Europe may be sniffing around in the summer

Given what Arsenal paid for him, I can't see him going anywhere. They wouldn't let him go for less than £150m and he is happy there. With the addition of a striker and winger Arsenal will be favourites for the title next season IMO. Good chance he wins the CL this season too.

I think they need to offload Vinicius and either sign a striker or give Endrick a run. It would put Mbappe back in his best position on the left too. Very harsh on Vinicius but they'll get a fortune for him which they can invest in a midfielder that can control the game like a peak Modric.

Suspect it won’t be long until Ancelotti is given the boot

Lots of reports from the Madrid press have them wanting Klopp

Would be interesting to see if it’s more than just standard Madrid noise

Yeah apparently Klopp isn't happy with his role at Red Bull and the only jobs that would tempt him back would be Germany or Brazil national teams or Real Madrid. I think he'll be back in the hot seat over the summer..

The Real Madrid job would be a strange choice for him considering what he has said before

Brazil job would be an interesting one

I was expecting Alonso to take the Madrid job in the summer and what’s why I think he stayed at Bayer the extra year
