Thankyou, and you are right. TAA is the gift that kept on giving, so I will be sad to see him leave Liverpool. I've said many times I like the look of Bradley, so why would I worry him? Plus' he's Northern Irish, so I'll have a have a bigger soft spot for him, and will forgive him for playing for Liverpool.

I think you'll find more people are critical of his defending, no one is really critical of his attacking, and all you are doing is finding the odd isolated opinion that seems to back your opinion.

It's strange. Are you now suggesting Cafu's opinion should be respected (presumably because he is a former right-back himself), yet a few posts ago you were being critical of Gary Neville?
Nothing to do with a anti-United bias:confused:🤷‍♂️

The biggest loss is financial. As with all clubs, you should never allow a player to get into the last 12 months of their contract. Once they knew he was not going to sign, you should have shipped him out. That's a big chunk of money you have missed out on. If you lose all 3 this summer, that would be a major financial cock up, not just a little one. You can cope, but even so..........
No the biggest loss is the the team loses an outstanding footballer. The kid plays football from a position we've never seen before. I know fans of other teams will scoff about his defensive ability, under Klopp he was never really in that team to defend 1st attack 2nd, it was the opposite way round.

The club havent lost nothing financially. He cost nothing and he's goin for nothing.

Assuming the player has only just decided he's goin, how could the club have sold him in the summer? There's a distinct possibility that he has waited until Jan 1st to speak to RM, as he is contractually obliged. He's had an offer on the table from both clubs and hes only just decided on RM.

All of the above is based on Talksport being accurate for once.

Slightly different with the other 2 players. There'll be a business decision to make with them. Wages v Age.

As it stands with Salah, they paid £38m for him and he's been there 8yrs. I'd say financially they've had their moneys worth.
Virgil very similar though his playing position is different as he can possibly play longer at a higher level than Salah.

RM started working on him 2 years ago. There was nothing the club could have done to get him to sign a new contract.
No player is bigger than the club,
It’s funny how so many slated him for being a crap defender and liability at the back yet now saying he’s a big loss…:)
You might be right. We'll never know i suppose.

Started watching the start of this weeks episode of The Overlap: Stick to Football.

Was funny when Neville criticised Liverpool in allowing TAA's contract to wind down, and Carragher getting irate in trying to defend the club and giving excuses as to why it had happened. He basically tried to explain that there has been various turnover of staff at the club in those positions of decision making, and it all boils down to where they have ended up. Neville pointed out that even the tea lady and kit man could have decided that Liverpool should sort out the contracts of those 3 players.

It certainly felt that if Man City had let Haaland's contract run down, Chelsea Palmers' or Newcastle Isak's, Carragher would have been happy to criticise the clubs. But, in this case, he just didn't seem to be able to do such a thing.
Carra is correct in what he's saying. The board at Liverpool employ football people to look after the football side of things including contracts. Those people left mid way through 2022/23 season.

In Summer of 23/24 Klopp brought in his mate to assist in bringing in the players he did in the summer. That was on a short term contract backed by the board. Would you expect a multi billion pound company to give a temporary employee carte blanche to offer contracts to other players? Based on all of those facts, i lay the blame at the boards feet for not dealing with the contracts in summer 23/24 season.

Neville is also correct that the tea lady could've sorted those contracts but thats not how multi billion pound companies do business

I'd say a lot of clubs would look to try and sort out a contract extension 18 months to 2 years before the end of the current contract, especially for players in their mid 20's who they rate extremely highly. If the club cannot agree a contract with the player, then they can either look to sell that player, or risk him leaving for free after the following season.

I wouldn't blame TAA in the slightest for his role in this, it has worked out very well for him. I suppose his biggest risk would be getting a major injury before agreeing a deal with RM or contract extension with Liverpool. But, if he can avoid that, I'm sure it is extremely lucrative for him. But, Liverpool need to be questioned for allowing it to get to this point. I'd imagine it is quite rare for Clubs to allow their best players to wind down their contract and go for free (unless those players are a lot older, and the Club simply don't want to renew the contract)

Well we can cerftainly tell you are one of those YNWAers as well.

I mean it's not just Everton fans that find the whopper a disgrace with their singing and attitude, everyone does.
Maybe they should've followed the Evertonians behaviour, you know like blocking players leaving the ground in the cars and giving them stick along Gwladys street, leaving players and their families fearing for their lives. Or line the paths of stanley park, hold hands across the park and give them a guard of honour thanking them for their service to the club like they did with Nicky Barmby and Abel Xavier.

I've seen how your lads treat one of Evertons greatest players in Sharp. He cant even go back their these days. Great support though.

Luckily i'm old enough to remember the salt of the earth Everton banners aswell.

Anyone just heard that nutter on Talksport, saying the TAA is not allowed to move, has no ambition and will do rubbish at RM and because he comes from Liverpool shouldn't be doing anything but stay at Liverpool. A mad 15 minutes summing up the attitude of many of the YNWA fans.

He said Owen and Mcmanaman were not real scousers even though Macca was born in Liverpool, he was not a real scouser just a scouser. I'm wearing a tin foil hat just to cope with it. Lunatics

This, this, and probably a bit more of this.

For me 99% of Liverpool fans understand and accept what is going off re TAA. (And for the record and I do stand corrected and folk can quote me re this thread. I don’t think “ Liverpool “ have done re players going out on this next transfer window).
But it’s the 1%, the 1% of Liverpool fans that are massively over vocal. And quite frankly ignorant. They pull the club down. They pull the honest fans down that understand players come in and players go out like any other club. The turn neutral fans against there club. That 1% may not be bothered, and with that for me it is what Is. But bottom line, TAA, Possibly Salah, possibly VVD and possibly the irreplaceable Nunez may be going. So why should TAA Be slagged off by the 1% and yet Nunez who has been a failure get off scott free? Because Liverpool get a few million for a rammel Nunez. Nah that don’t sit right for me.
Liverpool at the end of this season May well be in the same situation as City were at the start of this season. They need to re build. There may be exciting players coming in. What’s not to like.
Liverpool are on the verge of winning a second premier league title, the first without an asterisk at the side of it 😘
But the massive positive wave of emotion is being overshadowed by the noisy 1% of gobby negative igoranus
“ fans”.

Every club has that small percentage of evangelicals, and those who have to dig into every other club.
I let them get on with it.

I’m really struggling to understand any connection between TAA and Nunez 🤔
