We currently have four spots in the Champs League, that's already too many.
Agreed.
Should be top 2 at most.
But it’s all about £££.
Champions league this year has been a right bore fest imo.
City v Real in the final might be worth watch 🤷‍♂️

It's the Champions League, for goodness sake, we should have two at the absolute maximum.
Either that or change the name of the bloody thing.

I can't argue that it has seemed dull although Bayern doing well tonight. It has been about the cash for decades since UEFA sold their soul for the £££££'s. If I could have my way I'd make the CL league winners only and then the cup winners cup for those winners and then have a bigger UEFA version if they wanted a lot of matches. It'll never happen now of course

We are 3rd behind Italy and Spain

Man Utd nd Newcastle bombing out didn’t help

Have we not had 4/5 for ages? Why too many when it has been so.

Currently third but let’s be honest, no Italian team is winning the CL or EL, so long as city keep progressing and Arsenal turn around the deficit in their current fixture we will be sound.

I have faith in Liverpool winning the Europa league, also got West Ham and Brighton going well in that too.

Villa favourites for the conference but the hardest game possible was drawn for us so if we get through Ajax it’s full steam ahead for us too.

Ajax will be a tough tie, especially with Henderson in their team.

Quote taken from the BBC sport website

Aston Villa have reported a loss of £119.6m in their latest accounts up to 31 May 2023.

The accounts cover a period that saw Villa finish seventh in the Premier League to qualify for Europe.
Villa say the figures are "in line with the strategic business plan" and within the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.

PSR rules, introduced in 2015-16, permit losses of up to £105m in a three-year spell.

It's an interesting strategic plan that builds in a loss of that amount! Does this mean Villa will need to sell in the summer? Particularly if they do not make top 4? Alternatively, are they allowing for the FFP rule changes that are likely to be happening for next season and so ignoring the current set up?
Ten Haag briefly touched on this subject at the weekend when asked re the top four and Champions league. He mentioned it could well be the top five qualify.
For that to work re the Prem league. UEFA have a little side completion going on. It goes along the lines of the top two countries club teams that go the furthest in the European competitions get a champions league place apiece next season. Currently those positions are held by Germany and Italy I believe, with England in 3rd position.
Bottom line the team that finishes 5th will be hoping City or Arsenal go all the way.

Just seen I am late to the party with the above info 😁👍

What exactly is a “Deleted member”?

Is it someone who has withdrawn his services to the forum (flounce)? Or is it someone who has been forcibly removed against their will by the zealous Moderators?
