Disappointing not to have beaten Everton when you create enough chances. Losing Jimenez not going to help and only 7 points ahead of the drop zone so it could be a nervy end to the season if we don't convert chances

Cracking game at Villa tonight, both teams trying to play good football from the back.
Matty Cash must have a chance for England squad for Euros….

Cash is probably our worst player at the moment - offers very little to the team.

Villa were pure garbage last night, a big shame to see the undefeated run at home since Feb 2023 come to an end.

Villa really need to bouce back after the last few results and get back to playing good football, but it seems now were also struggling with a few key injuries and it shows on the pitch.

seemed strange he left Bailey out, appeared to make a difference when introduced too

I was really surprised during the first half how Villa didn't bother putting any pressure on Newcastle's back four and allowed them to play out when in possession. Contrast on Saturday night, Fulham did their best to deny our back four time on the ball and it showed, with Newcastle constantly finding it difficult to build any cohesive patterns of play (OK...ultimately, in the end it didn't make any difference and Newcastle won...but stick Watkins in the Fulham front line and Saturday would have been a totally different story).

Think Villa gifted us an easy 60 minutes and by the time they brought Bailey on and woke up a bit and started putting pressure on our back four it was simply too late.

We now need to back last night up with a comfortable performance over Luton on Saturday...and there's no guarantee that will happen given what they did to Brighton last night!!

Yeah an odd one but Diaby is also pretty decent normally, just properly off the boil last night.

Yeah honestly just a very non-villa like performance. 4 CM's in midfield was a mess too.

I will say, Newcastle have mastered the dirty tactics of football, time wasting was absolutely rife all game, very annoying to play against and never let us get momentum.

I'm sure Liverpool fans will be screaming on Twitter about him not giving Chelsea an early penalty :)
He’s just a crap ref imo.
i think it’s 50/50 and have seen them given.
Chelsea have been practicing their diving though so it bites you sometimes!

Why didn’t he book Gallagher for kicking the ball away.?
If he books a Liverpool player for it later he’s causing problems for himself As I’m sure Klopp will point it out to him!

Cant be missing the target at this level At penalties.
Weve been brilliant and only for the keeper it would be all over.!

Liverpool fans seem to be quiet about Tierney tonight.......................
He’s a crap ref.

Gallaher kicks the ball away nothing.
Nunez kicks it away Yellow card.

Thats a pen for Chelsea second half but his VAR crony just backs him up.

The reason Liverpool fans don’t like him is we’re on the end of bad decisions like that all the time because he does so many of our games!

Awesome from the reds Jota brilliant but Bradley mom how good is he.

Some nice footy from Chelsea but nothing up front!

Was a strange performance from him - both first half pen shouts soft imo , second half one - no idea how VAR have seen in it and not given it , what is the threshold, clearly going by the penalty Liverpool got then the tackle on Nkunku is a penalty - strange

Shame as took a little gloss off a great performance- England have another right back to pick from

Chelsea really do need to find the receipts for Caicedo and Fernandez- £250mil of midfielders who spent most of the game chasing the shadow of MacAllister and Jones

If you mean Bradley, he's an Ulsterman.
