If a manager is leaving on a high, does he see a bubble going to burst?

What I mean is, is the current form sustainable? Or is it the hight of what is possible before an inevitable decline/explosion he doesn't want to be part of?

Not sure if someone like Alonso would come in but if he did then would need time

But the club is in a great place and whoever comes in has a fantastic foundation to build from - which is all down to Klopp

Not sure on the last point either - new manager could have a tough rebuild on their hands. Especially if Salah sees it as time to move on now. Van Dijk isn't getting any younger.

Think Alonso will be the real deal, prefer he didnt go there. Expect Liverpool already have a relatively short list as have known Klopp wasnt going to stay forever

Never been his biggest fan but have to have a huge respect for what Klopp has achieved at Liverpool

He has the rest of the season where the focus is all going to be on him, not the team. Every press conference for him, the players, all about him going ' doing it for Klopp etc. The club knew , no need to make it public at this stage. Do it at the end of the season, before the last game or two. He gets a send off then, this will be like Elton Johns last ever world tour......

In fairness, if he told the club in November, it has been known for a while. Why announce it now? Well, very possibly because this information has leaked out somewhere, and it was inevitable that it would start coming out in the media as gossip and rumours. Or maybe even a huge Exclusive. So, Liverpool and Klopp decided to put the news out there on their own terms.

Furthermore, Liverpool will need to start looking for new managers. They can't hold that off until the end of the season. And as soon as they start talking to candidates and their agents, then news of Klopp leaving will be out there. It would be impossible for Liverpool to contain it any longer.

It could great bit of work - takes pressure off the players , focus will be on him and they can really go for it now

The players have obviously known since November and it looks like it’s motivating them even more to finish on a high for him

No issues with the timing and there are prob a good number of managers now who will be desperate to prove themselves to be ready to take on one of the biggest jobs in the sport

In the old days there would have been the good old boot room to appoint from within but that is not the case anymore. Pretty sure any agents of potential managers will be upping the salaries and looking for huge add ons for winning

Maybe this will be the spark that sees Salah consider it a good time to play in Saudi Arabia?

It'll always be interesting how an existing squad will get on with a new manager and new coaching staff, especially if they built up a great relationship with them. Things can be tough, especially if results don't go well, or little things are done differently than they were used to. There could be a group of key players at Liverpool that may consider it an appropriate time to look for new challenges, that may have stayed otherwise. Often when a long-term manager leaves a club, who are still competitive at the top, need some sort of rebuild after the shock of losing that manager. Because whoever comes in won't do things exactly like Klopp, and some players may be impacted more by the new managers thinking than others.

Can't see past RdZ ,he has shown he can handle the premier League and Liverpool play a similar game to Brighton so the set up will suit him as the players are already and waiting for him .

Depends on what players they get in their fire sale assault on the market in January and whether the leaders wobble at they aren't used to being there. Only 4 points.

Man. Utd supporter here. As much as it pains me I have to say Klopp is a magnificent manager and has done what the best managers do. Built a championship winning team and then saw it was getting stale and has built another one. Utds mistake was not going for him when they could. He's the nearest thing to Ferguson around today.
But like Ferguson,who ran every part of OT, it is an all consuming job the pressure is immense even more so now with social media. Fergusons kid tell of how they never saw their Dad. The toll on one's health must have a part to play, Ferguson has a pacemaker and suffered a stroke. Gérard Houllier died of a heart attack, even Shankley and Stein went before their time and Clough became an alcoholic. I'm not saying football was the cause but their way of management was certainly a factor.
Klopp realises this and I don't blame him one bit for taking a rest. Life is for living with your loved ones and I wish him all the best.
