Man. Utd supporter here. As much as it pains me I have to say Klopp is a magnificent manager and has done what the best managers do. Built a championship winning team and then saw it was getting stale and has built another one. Utds mistake was not going for him when they could. He's the nearest thing to Ferguson around today.
But like Ferguson, who ran every part of OT, it is an all consuming job the pressure is immense even more so now with social media. Fergusons kid tell of how they never saw their Dad. The toll on one's health must have a part to play, Ferguson has a pacemaker and suffered a stroke. Gérard Houllier died of a heart attack, even Shankley and Stein went before their time and Clough became an alcoholic. I'm not saying football was the cause but their way of management was certainly a factor.
Klopp realises this and I don't blame him one bit for taking a rest. Life is for living with your loved ones and I wish him all the best.
Man Utd did go for Klopp.

If a manager is leaving on a high, does he see a bubble going to burst?

What I mean is, is the current form sustainable? Or is it the hight of what is possible before an inevitable decline/explosion he doesn't want to be part of?

Maybe with Salah getting older he knows the team is aging and replacements cost money

He's proven he can do it and won so much.

Prob doesn't think needs to do it all again

You have to think if it is a well run club who have known about the situation since November, the successor if not already signed should at least have confirmed interest and availability with terms pretty much agreed.

Not sure. I'd imagine it was a shock for them in November. They probably had a week or 2 to scramble together various meetings between themselves. Since then, perhaps giving themselves some time to brainstorm potential candidates, and looking in depth into their credentials. A couple of months later, they think it is time to now start approaching their top choices, and they realize that they will need to publicly announce the news before they do, otherwise it will become public anyway?

I still wish they hadn't, it would have been funny to see the red rag rumour mill trying to spin the story that Liverpool are sacking Klopp while top of the league.

Klopps been great for Liverpool.

It would not suprize me to find his replacement is already sorted!
Thats why they have announced this now.
Does seem like a strange time to do it.

Sod who is replacing him.....where is he going?

We've all heard the "running out of energy need a break" excuse before....and then 4 months after "finishing" the person is back managing a high profile club again.

He will be back, somewhere.

That’s my thoughts, the timing is odd. I would also not be surprised if one of his back room staff takes over. Liverpool play to a good system. It would seem logical for them to pursue that same style of football. Continuity springs to mind. To clear out all of Klopp support staff and bring in new would not be logical.
