Yeah they were soft, but both bookable offences. I'd be criticising the player not the referee, you can't bring a player down if you're already on a yellow and then complain if you get another.More than soft. Appalling. Those Everton supporters are onto something you know....
You should be allowed to make a genuine, safe attempt to make a tackle, and not fear a yellow if the attacker ends up being a bit too quick for you.Yeah they were soft, but both bookable offences. If he hadn't already been on a yellow, you can guarantee the commentators would've been saying how clever he was for taking one for the team by bringing Elliot down, and preventing an attack.
Anyway..Libpool top o' the league, Libpool, Libpool top o' the league!
The Havertz goal ruled out for handball highlights the pathetic handball rule.
The footage shows it accidentally hits both his and Matty Cash's hand in the incident. It even hits Cash's first. All accidental of course.
The rules award handball against Arsenal and goal ruled out. But they don't award handball against Villa and give Arsenal a penalty.
And had Havertz been able to pass ball to a team mate instead of shoot, no handball a goal.
And, I'm happy to give Bouremouth a 4-0 win for having a late goal ruled out for same thing.
Not sure which game I watched yesterday, but a player did stop the quick free kick by deliberately standing in front. Player deliberately kicked it to get the other booked. Ref just restarted the free kick and ignored the gamesmanship or whatever it’s called. VVD did the same and it never hit Ayew so he never interfered. Again where is the consistency. You should be allowed to make a genuine, safe attempt to make a tackle, and not fear a yellow if the attacker ends up being a bit too quick for you.
If not, best sub every defensive player on a yellow. No point on them being on the pitch if they can't make a tackle
Man Utd rumour mill working overtime this morning with Zidane being spoken about as the next in line.
ETH has made some awful mistakes , whoever is next needs to be a motivator as we need to get off the merry-go -round at some point. The players have to enjoy the game. There’s so much anger, panick and lack of class in the team right now. I enjoyed watching Villa yesterday and the squad seems so together. Same with Liverpool as much as it pains me to say it.
We’re going to win nothing now so I’d give ETH till the end of the season….. Martinez, AWB and shaw have all been out for most of the season and people forget we had one of the best defences last year ….DDG even won the golden glove !!!
But letting DDG leave was one of ETHs worst mistakes. Loyal servant, loved the club and wanted to sign a contract on reduced wages, yet he let him go. That, plus having the flop signings haven’t improved the situation.
I do ultimately blame the players and their attitudes. I’ve never seen such a contrast in sublime to the ridiculous as we have under ETH, therefore , it respective of who the manager is, that tells me there’s bad eggs in the squad and that needs fixing.
Are they really??More than soft. Appalling. Those Everton supporters are onto something you know....
Unfortunately that’s the way it’s going. You should be allowed to make a genuine, safe attempt to make a tackle, and not fear a yellow if the attacker ends up being a bit too quick for you.

I thought the second, again he tried to make a tackle.
Interesting to hear Linekar say he is not a lover of VAR last night.

That situation, all described in your post, is ideal for the sin bin proposal. Old pro's are finding the idea mind blowing but it really could transform the game for the better.Spot on!
But what about the “last man tackle…” Red? Personally, I feel that if the ref deems it a genuine challenge it shouldn’t be a red. But then you’ll get the opposition mobbing the ref, demanding a red. And that’s where the refs have to be stronger. Captains should be allowed to ask for clarification and that’s all. Any mobbing, first player get a yellow, second players gets a red.

So we just let abuse continue, the deliberate take out happen? Trial it and see.Or it could just lead to the team with a player in the sin bin putting ten men behind the ball and defending for the 10 minutes their player is in the bin making for a very dull watch.
Is Haaland injured or just rested?
