I'm glad Amazon don't have it, simply because the picture quality for me is horrendous. Maybe it is just my internet speed, but I still hate the idea of streaming live football as internet connection is much more unreliable than my satellite dish.
Ah, we don't have that problem so it doesn't come into the equation. Fair point, but the freedom to choose is great.

Same. My internet speed is fine, but even with that there is a big difference between streaming and the pictures I get from Sky and TNT.

Potter for yernited, he's been turning down job after job , probably waiting for the yernited job to fall into his lap
I really do not like the idea at all. I like what Potter did, but I don't think he would be any better equipped at managing a group of absolute lightweights Man Utd have in their squad.

Even these leaked rumours about 50% of the dressing room being against ten Hag. What insider has done this poll??? To me, it could simply be someone like Sancho (or someone in his entourage) that is unhappy with their personal situation in the club, and then simply spreading rumours to press to try and force the club to sack the manager.

The only players that I can see being annoyed are Sancho (for obvious reasons), Varane (no idea what has happened there) and Martial (although got a few games recently, he is still not fancied for the future, with Hojlund the preferred option). Rashford visibly looks annoyed every time he plays, although given that he gets a free pass to play every game despite awful performances, he should be buying Ten Hag nice little gifts every single day as a thankyou.

Potter had issues at the circus of Chelsea. I can't see him doing much better at the circus of Man Utd

I think its just time to accept United are rotten and destined for mid table mediocrity for a number of years.

Welcome to being a normal football fan. Pain and suffering.

When they sack Wilder will Heckinbottom come back again. They could rotate the position between the two of them.
That could be the new thing. We've had player managers, we've had joint managers (Evans/Houllier). Now we could try the era of rotated managers. We do it to players to keep them fresh, so maybe we could try it with managers. It means that Utd could swap managers every year, just before the players drop off into a sulk. We should bring back Ole over Xmas, and go on a great winning streak. And then in the summer bring back Ten Hag.

I'm a big fan of Potter but he needs to be able to build his team, mould the style. Would the egos at Utd have the patience? I suspect you are right, he is certainly biding his time and Utd looks to be the next job coming available out of the bigger clubs.

Alternatively, would West Ham be big enough for him? I reckon Moyes will not go beyond this season. Big stadium, decent team, half decent budget now. It is somewhere he could build and he would probably get the time and also a bit more freedom than at Utd.

He would suit us down to the ground and would be one of the few I'd be willing to see Moyes leave for. I like and respect Moyes. However he won't be managing forever and long term potter would be a fantastic choice

Slightly annoying news about the new tv deal. Amazon will not be part of the new deal, it is Sky & TNT only for live games. I like the Amazon concept, all games available, up to you which one you choose. We have been told for a little while now that this will be the future but sadly, not the case yet still.

Was listening to BBC wake up to money on my way in this morning. They were breaking down the "record" deal. How it's been spun as a record but it's more games. More years so isn't a record as per game it's less money than before.

Anyways it seems Amazon weren't interested as they would need to pay more and they don't want to up their costs too much

More surprised that apple didn't come in as with their resources they could blow sky out the water

However until the outdated 3pm blackout is removed it will be less attractive

But then whilst people are willing to pay ridiculous money to watch the games every week at the stadium (and by that I mean no offence I just mean they put it up and up and up.. some leave but always someone else to replace them) then they have no interest in boosting their income by having pet team packages etc

They will fleece the match going fans until the cows come home

I am still taking the rumours with a pinch of salt to an extent.

The issue for me is that United have tried the nice guy approach with Solskjaer, the disciplinarian approach with Ten Hag and the been there, seen it and won it approach with Mourinho. The previous two regimes have failed, and this one may or may not be destined to go the same way.

The constants have been the lack of structure supporting the manager, and players with big egos apparently thinking they are bigger than the club. For me, these are the elements which need addressing. If manager after manager keeps failing, the club need to look beyond one man.

If they remove the 3pm blackout I think it could spell the end for quite a few lower league teams including my own. Unless the lower leagues were to alter their kick off times to slots when there aren't live PL matches on I can't see them getting enough fans in the ground to be sustainable in the longer term. On a miserable, cold Saturday afternoon when the rain is coming in horizontally many fans won't bother going to watch Colchester v Doncaster if they can sit at home or in the pub in the warm and watch Liverpool v Arsenal.

I am just hoping that Amazon want to replace what they have lost with football and tennis by upping their presence in rugby. God we need the money.

Me to. Sadly, however, when media giants like Sky and Talksport want to sensationalise such rumours, and excitely report them to the whole world, it generates a general bad feeling towards the manager. God knows how often I've heard the line "Ten Hag has lost the dressing room". They say it enough times, people will believe it.

The actual truth is that the dressing room has lost players with mental resilience and an obsessive will to win. Not even a management team of Pep Guardiola and Eileen Drewery would likely be able to perform the miracles required to turn them into winning machines. There are probably a lot of players (the majority) that are in favour of the manager, either because they are getting in the side, signed under Ten Hag or young and keen to impress. But, some of them are simply not goof enough, whilst the negative vibe of a small minority of players not only makes them ineffective, but drags a few of the others down with them.

I never have an issue with one or 2 big ego players in the dressing room, if those egos are the types of guys who will win matches out of nothing. But, they need 4 or 5 big personalities with charisma, so that when the diva antics start, their fellow team mates can give them a kick up the backside. I think the egos of some players are better controlled by strong characters on the playing squad than non-playing staff including manager. If you have no big characters in the dressing room (i.e. the types that want to win over anything else and will work 100% all the time to try and get there), then that is when even one ego within the club can be damaging. In my opinion anyway, obviously not speaking from experience within an elite level dressing room.

From the Beeb website;

Manchester United banned journalists from four media outlets from Tuesday's news conference with boss Erik ten Hag.

United claimed they had not been given right of reply to negative stories around the club.
Journalists from Sky, ESPN, Manchester Evening News and the Mirror were excluded after reporting some players were unhappy with Dutchman Ten Hag.

"We are taking action against a number of news organisations," the club said in a statement.

"Not for publishing stories we don't like, but for doing so without contacting us first to give us the opportunity to comment, challenge or contextualise.

"We believe this is an important principle to defend and we hope it can lead to a re-set in the way we work together."

Speaking at the news conference, Ten Hag said: "They should have come to us first and not go around our back printing articles - that is not the right thing.

"If the players have a different opinion of course I will listen, but they haven't told me, or maybe one or two [players], but the majority want to play like this - proactive, dynamic, brave."

Ten Hag contradicting/correcting himself in the last sentence. Were Utd looking to comment etc, or were they looking to spin (censure) the article? Whatever reason for banning some media outlets surely they would have been better served by having them there and arguing the toss with them. Add to which the media is the conduit by which you connect with the fans. What a mess!

The outdatef 3pm blackout is there to protect the lower leagues and rightly so. Imagine the outcry if that blackout gets removed?

You're not wrong there, It's about time the telly clappers started getting fleeced instead.

To make it fair, remove the blackout and make every game available on TV for the same price as the highest General Admission ticket at that club.

When you start banning the local press, MEN, and the biggest football outlet in the country, Sky, then you are on a slippery slope. You need to engage with news outlets, particularly the local ones, not fight them. It shows a very thin skin.

Ferguson didn’t speak to the BBC for years, and he had skin like a rhinoceros!

Not saying you're wrong because I don't know enough about lower league football - but this argument always perplexes me. Surely a Colchester fan is going to watch Colchester, regardless? And the neutral man on the street is not popping in to watch Colchester because there's no game on telly is he? Surely Colchester games would still be attended by Colchester fans and attendance is unaffected. Unless you don't think much of your club's fans if you think they'd rather stop in and watch Burnley vs Luton over watching their own team??

Maybe not for the die hard fans that go every week and travel to Wrexham for a midweek away game but for the likes of myself that take the kids down 5 or 6 times a year it would have an impact. My older boy would far rather stay at home and watch Man Utd than go down to Colchester on a Saturday afternoon. Multiply that by the number of casual fans that attend when they can and it's a big drop in revenue for the club. Also got to consider West Ham/Arsenal/Spurs fans that live in Colchester that might go along if their team are away and they want to watch live football. Almost no chance they'd go if their own team was live on TV.

Fair enough. I guess I had this image that lower league games are attended by die-hard fans of those clubs and no one else. 😄
