Oh dear. If reports on Sky Sports News are in any way accurate, unless Erik Ten Hag holds clear the air talks with his entire squad very soon, his days may be numbered.

The suggestion is as many as half his squad are deeply unhappy with his management style, training methods and so on.

Groundhog Day and another management change on the horizon, methinks.

Changing the manager won’t change Martial, Rashford or Sancho. But getting rid of disruptive players might lighten the mood in the squad. And let’s be honest, several of the players haven’t performed for previous manager(s).

I’d go with shifting on the deadwood first, otherwise the next manager inherits the same problem.

I think the point you have missed is the fact they have said “ it is accepted there was human error”. What that means is that the last 6 pages of us discussing this whether we agreed or not With the decision is now irrelevant. The powers that be have said “ human error”. Now if you go back a few of my posts I said it would be nice to get a response to yesterday. We have 😳👍 That has shocked me. So we move on. So let’s not over react.
However, City have now been charged for surrounding the ref after his “ human error mistake”.
Me I hope it gets put with the 115 other charges 😁👍

It’s a really difficult one. We see the managerial merry go round at Chelsea, and that never seems to solve the problem at Stamford Bridge. I’m really reluctant to see United going down the same route, but something really has to change.

I hate seeing the tail wagging the dog. Absolutely hate it. Player power is too great, and shouldn’t be allowed to dictate a club’s direction, especially when it comes to hiring and firing managers.

But equally, if a manager has lost a huge proportion of the dressing room, then it seems difficult to see how that manager’s position remains tenable.

A good manager has to be flexible in their dealings with staff. A one size fits all approach is dangerous when dealing with diverse personalities. And it strikes me that this may be part of the issue with ETH - his disciplinarian approach does not seem to be working with everyone. I’m reminded of how Ferguson used to manage Cantona - the player allegedly used to be given considerably more latitude than many of his colleagues because of the complex nature of his personality. The other players accepted it because they saw the considerable benefits. Maybe ETH doesn’t operate the same way, who knows?

If he is unable to salvage the situation, if such a situation exists, then much as it pains me to say it he may need to go. But if he does move on, then simultaneously the club need to make real strides in identifying those players who either down tools too easily, or who are disruptive, and move them on as well. We cannot find ourselves in a cycle of rinse and repeat.

Not sure they'll be able to hide the evidence, and refuse to cooperate for years on this charge

Wasn't there an article floating about recently saying Ratcliffe wanted to tell ETH to make it up with Sancho and bring him back into the team?
If you have a prospective new controller taking over saying things like that it never boads well for the manager.
If ETH is pushed, that will say a lot to any possible new manager about what he is dealing with, and I would imagine put a lot off even bothering.

Spurs manager also admitted mistakes ,both in front of the cameras!

Refs hide. Until Howard gets on Sky with Michael Owen.

Will he be blamed just like ETH.

Which is why I say any change of manager needs to coincide with an overhaul of the playing staff. Too many players with stinking attitudes and they will be the same whoever is in charge if they don’t get their own way.
