So, I was talking about losing the ball whilst in possession, rather than completed passes.
Yet now that I've had a 10 minute search, every website I've looked at has Grealish with a higher pass completion % than Saka
Grealish is also way down the list on dribbles completed. None of the sources (one is the official PL website) I use have Saka lower than Grealish in pass completion, in fact Grealish doesn't even feature in the Top 100 of any I've seen.
Dispossession stats aren't great either, which is probably a truer metric of your claim. Ross Barkley at Luton sits on the same number and he's played a lot more for a worse side. Declan Rice who has played almost every minute and doesn't hide on the touchline has better stats. Even Doku who is viewed as a pace merchant gets tackled less.
Grealish is a good player that Pep moulded to fit a winning system last year, he's now been benched and replaced. I'm sure in a 60 game season for City he'll come in and do well at patches but this idea he never gives the ball away is laughable. He just plays it safe, still gives it away and wins a few free kicks. I'd definitely have him as a bench option for England but no more unless he bothered to take people on and make things happen.
