He's quality no doubt about that. Klopp has him playing in the #6 role temporarily which i dont think he suits as its a specialist postion as we have seen over the years.

I've watched enough of him this season to see a world class footballer in him.
Who should be playing there for you? Who should he be replacing?

Round pegs, round holes............

The issue was Fabinho left out of the blue. We had already had our transfers pretty much sorted.

We ended up with Endo who at the minute looks out of his depth..

McAlister can play the #6 role so he's not massively out of position but its not his preferred position.

It's all well and good warning teams about it. The inconsistent applying of the rule is the bighest bug bear.
Inconsistency is always annoying but if Dunk has given the ref abuse, and kept going, then he has no one to blame but himself. He has put himself in that position. If he keeps his mouth shut the ref does nothing.

But if Dunk has seen other captains getting away with it maybe hes not to blame.

Can't agree with that. He can only control his actions, not the actions of others. It's up to him to keep schtum. You can't blame refs for everything. Next time he plays he may do the same and stay on the pitch. Why risk it though? It's on him.

Will be interesting to see this on MOTD.
I thought captains were allowed to question the ref and put their points across.
Will see later. 👍

Funny how people's opinions can be so different from watching the same player. One thinks he has been pants, the other thinks he looks world class :)
I think the problem is a match going fans sees it for the whole game. Us armchair fans rarely sees it, unless it’s highlighted on MOTD. We had a similar discussion re Grealish earlier this week.

However bad your day is:

Plymouth 2-0 Sunderland. 800 mile round trip for Sunderland fans

Bolton 7-0 Exeter. 500 mile round trip for Exeter fans.

I hope the pies were decent at least. Give them some joy today 😄

The flip side of that is Barrow with a 660 mile round trip to play my lot today and us kindly letting them go home with a 4-1 win.

I've always said that we're a good community club that does a lot for the fans. I just wish that sometimes they'd do more for our own fans rather than trying to make the opposition fans happy all the time.

Always looks like a booking waiting to happen to me in big games.

Perhaps. Although world class players are often that good that even the arm chair fans notice them. And the commentators / pundits, who are at the game, would talk about them endlessly to make sure the arm chair fans know about them.

I'm sure MacAllister is a very good player. Tho I think world class is pushing it, but it depends what bar you are setting I guess, and how many players you think should be world class. If it is simply a person who is good enough to play professionally in one of the world's top leagues, then I suppose he'd be world class.

Thats upto you mate.

Alls i want is consistent refereeing in every game whether its gameweek 3 or 33.

I’m not sure I disagree with you on this.

But the other side of it is he’s a fabulous footballer being played out of position for reasons previously discussed.

If you put Rodri (as the best no6 in the league, if not the world atm) in his position and him alongside Szoboszlai rather than Jones I think you’d see a vastly improved player, playing in his proper position.

So why sign a player to play him out of position?
Or is it just whilst someone comes back from injury?
