Main thinking was Watkins is fast and very direct and a great finisher. (Just thinking out loud if Gerrard can play there!)
Pep has made Grealish to safe to many backward passes.

Kane wants to be a midfielder he’s so deep to much ,hardly ever in the box. ( maybe why Rashford has no forward pass as there is nobody ahead of him)

But if your playing inconsistently how do you get in the international side when Foden is warming the bench.?

Bowen on right , saka left. Kane up top

I think Saka is best on the right Where he plays for his club.
But agree Bowen deserves his go .
But we need someone who plays for his club in the left wing position.
Has Saka ever played on the left ? He must have at some time.

England have been guilty in the past of playing players out of position just to get the superstars in the team.
Gerrard and Lampard for example.

He started out at lwb didn't he? Well played there a few times

But has played left wing before not sure how many times

Both players are left footed

Tough first half for Newcastle....Dortmund very slick in attack and on the counter and deserve to be leading. Seem to be able to bypass the Newcastle midfield easily and get at our back four. Possibly some naive attacking play from Newcastle with a lot of players ahead of the ball and getting caught out when possession is turned over.

Big second half ahead.

Never really got going in the second half...Dortmund very well organised and Newcastle just misfired a bit....one gilt edged opportunity that most days Wilson would stick in the net but other than that very little really created. Yeah we struck the crossbar twice but that just masks a bit of a dysfunctional performance.

That was a key game for Newcastle in terms of qualifying. Dortmund aren't anything special and to lose at home in that way is very disappointing. Going to need to win away in Dortmund or Paris and beat Milan at home. Still fancy them to go through.

I don’t mind admitting I have questioned MaguireS inclusion in the England team, but it is to do with Southgates decision that players should be playing football regular for there clubs and Maguire, and Phillips have not. And Henderson is playing in front of 700 fans and a dog. Southgate then says, yeah but Maguire does well for England.
Whether Maguire plays for Utd or Whoever. As an Englishman following England I want to see any of them batter any team they play against.
Personally I think Maguire is giving Ten Haag a massive headache. If Maguire keeps getting MOTM performances, he is going to be hard to drop when other players are fit. Watch this space on that one.

You just weant him in the team for Sunday :ROFLMAO:

It was a key game in them qualifying, but you still expect them to go through.

Doesn't sound very key to me :)

I think the Newcastle group is the group of death, they can all take points off one another. The champs league is different mustard as City found out for years and years.

Foden regularly plays on the left for City. Here's a breakdown of his positions last season. He played left wing more than any other. I don't get this mentality that people don't want to play Foden 'out of position' when he frequently plays left, right or centre for City. Pep has done us a favour by keeping him versatile - just get him in the team. As I said in my preferred line-up a few pages ago, I'd have Foden left and Saka right. Different types of players to give us different options. Space for Bellingham or Maddison to play the number 10.

Foden may start on the team sheet on the left for City but he wanders around. It isn't quite the same.
