I don't have a funky stick to watch matches with but........can't help thinking Gueye having to drop out after the warm up may well have helped Everton today. His legs have gone, he is too ponderous on the ball. Having a 3 of Onana, Garner and Doucoure, Harrison and McNeil giving pace and width outside, is much more dynamic. Hopefully gave Dyche food for thought.

After last week's disaster, that gives us a chance to breathe.

I didn’t back Everton today,so that’s why they won.
Nothing to do with player changes🥴

Play him and maigure more often
Didn't see the 1st 35 minutes, but Maguire played well. United were in control of possession to be fair, so not massively tested. But him and Evans were comfortable.

Rashford was rubbish again. Tries to create in flashes. Occasionally he might get a half chance, but usually loses possession. And then sulks and doesn't run back. Garnacho came on after 60 mins, and was excellent. Included a run chasing back an opponent nearly full length of pitch.

Once the crosses came in (which Rashford doesn't do), started looking more threatening. Then McTomminay became the hero, took both goals brilliantly. Still not the player I can see being a regular 1st teamer, but I applaud his effort when he came on for last few minutes

Billysboots and Swango, what do you think of Mctominay now? 😂

One swallow does not a summer make!

Haven’t seen it, but following on the BBC it sounds like we created very little, and also that Rashford had another one of those days. Which he seems to have every week just now. He’s a very lucky fella to still be starting games.

Nobody can ever doubt McTominay’s commitment to the cause. He’s always given his all, but his all has never quite been good enough. If some of those around him showed his level of application United wouldn’t be in the mess they are.

The three points are welcome. But they don’t gloss over the fact there is an awful lot to do. And as I had a 2-1 win in my Super6 McTominay will be my new best friend for a few days.

I've been told it's another blunder from the keeper for the goal

Pep masterstroke in saying united should sign him?

I really like mctominay.. think he is exactly what teams need at times. Not fancy but effective

I believe the keeper should have done better. But I think Casemiro gave ut away cheaply, and Lindelof was also poor. Sounds like a typical goal Utd concede

I'm all for giving players time to settle in the league before fully judging, always think they need a season even if transfering between clubs in same league. Not every signing clicks straight away

But.

Has to go down as one of the more disastrous 1st seasons

Signed saying he had retired from international football . Comes out of retirement once signed so now will miss 1-2 months of the season

A series of high profile blunders

Renowned as a ball player but even that has been lacking

Safe to say if he was loan to buy it wouldn't look promising of him staying

Be harsh to blame Onana. Lindelöf should have done far better in clearing his lines.

We’re barely out of September - give the fella a chance! I seem to recall De Gea was woeful when he started, and he didn’t turn out too badly.

Unfortunately I was working today but managed to catch the last 10 minutes on the radio.
Wowsers!
McDominate, who'd have thought?
I bet those who left early are feeling a little bit foolish right now.

Well, if we are to judge Onana now, then undoubtedly the evidence we have in front of us this early on in the season is not flattering.

When I watch him, he almost looks stoned. Not much energy in his performances, not much bounce in his step. Is he nervous, being overly cautious? Not the type of player I heard he was last season.

However, I'm still hopeful he'll come good. There are bigger areas of improvement required other than the keeper

A pal of mine has posted on Facebook. She has been to the Utd game and said it was the worst performance she has seen at OT in 43 years.
