Guess only you could bring Liverpool into it

My irony meter just blew up.

Can we PLEASE confine comments to the football? All the talk of who boos whose anthem, who chants about what, and who disrespects whom is getting very, very tiresome, and is only going to end badly.

There’s a football match being played.

Southgate: I can't play Foden at number 10 because he doesn't play there for his club.
Also Southgate: plays Maddison left wing, Trippier at left back, Phillips on the pitch, etc etc.

This is stated quite plainly here. I can think nothing other than that is what you are saying.

You expect to win these games, don’t care as much as the opposing team about them due to this and don’t even know why you play them.

That’s almost explicit in its intent. Unless it’s badly written, of course, but your posts aren’t badly written often if ever.

You have a fair point to some extent but have misinterpreted some of what I said. My "hurt" at my anthem being disprespected is why I don't think we should play friendlies against countries whose fans hate us with such passion. Are we expected to win? I think so yes. We're ranked 4th and Scotland 30th in the FIFA world rankings.

I don't understand the hatred for the English and not sure I ever will.

You only have to look at several comments in this very thread, one below yours, that demonstrate an arrogance that drives much of what is perceived as hatred but, in reality, is nothing more than pantomime-esque save for the extremist fringe that all countries have.

Scotland are nothing but the poor relation to many south of Berwick. We technically don’t even have our own anthem, officially.

Orikoru's comment arrogant? I'd have only thought that if he said it as a factual opinion, but it came across as a bit of light micky taking to me?

There is a lovely flow to England tonight, good to see. It's helping that Scotland aren't parking the bus so there is space to play in, unlike the game on Saturday.

There was also a snap shot of England issue when playing with two sitting and an 8 - a quick break on and Kane picks the ball up deep in his own half when he should be up with them

This is the perfect chance now to put someone like Foden or Maddison in the ten

That’s better.
But why is Kane not playing CF he’s everywhere except where he should be.

Bellingham is some player but he looks like he wants to fight .
Sly digs leaving his foot in ,just no need.
Two lads at the back excellent

very impressed with Rashford first half but he’s been past his man three times and has checked and come inside.
Just head for the box make the defender commit.
