Not for me.
Ok, so to surmise. I AM guilty of committing a crime, by the act of actually committing the crime. But I'm innocent of committing the crime because no one can prove it?

This is fun :D

Edit: Apologies @AmandaJR, I misread/misinterpreted your posts (mainly due to trying to multitask as an early middle aged man!) and think we are in agreement on the innocence thing!

But if I HAVE committed a crime. And I KNOW that I have and, potentially, others KNOW it. But the evidence isn't there, am I still innocent of committing a crime?

It’s really quite simple. Legally, unless an offence is proven beyond all reasonable doubt and you have been convicted by a jury of your peers, you are innocent. Innocence equates to the absence of a conviction.

In all my years processing “customers” through the judicial system, when checking their previous convictions I never found anything on those records which was unproven.

That’s the nuts and bolts of it.

I know, I know. Just playing a Tuesday afternoon game of silly buggers.

In Scotland we have/soon to be had, the "not proven" outcome which seemed to cover that "you know you did it, we know you did it, we just can't get you by the short and curlies".

I was mainly jestering around the concept of "innocence" being delivered by proof rather than fact and the prefix of "legally" rather than "actually". It's interesting to my brain, as sad as that may seem!

It's interesting theoretic ground this. If I commit a crime but do not leave enough evidence behind to be prosecuted, does that make me innocent?
You have acknowledged that you have committed a crime so your not innocent.
But to prove you did it is a different matter.
If you can’t be proven guilty your innocent in the eyes of the law.

I think that’s another tactic to usher Maguire out of the door. It’s a short term deal, I suspect pay as you play.

It does show how badly the club was managed for years when so much money has been spent including some big fees on CB’s and yet you need to bring in Evans on a short contract

Are they expecting a club to offer a decent wedge for Maguire so that they can bring in someone else

Just watched the Rangers - Newcastle pre-season friendly/Alan McGregor testimonial.

Typical PSF. Newcastle dominated for half an hour, scored a goal then seemingly sat back, still maintaining possession comfortably without really trying to score another...happy to pass around in triangles safely rather than take risky balls. Rangers barely made it out of their own half in the first 35 minutes and with a bit more effort and tempo from Newcastle they could have been severely adrift at the break.

The usual raft of half time substitutions caused the usual disruption and Rangers came back into it in the second half creating a few half chances until they seized upon a defensive lapse and nipped in to equalise. Game was pretty even from then on with no real clear scoring opportunities until a couple of minutes from time when Isak got the ball at his feet on the left, shimmied to create half a yard and chipped a nice ball in to Harrison Ashby (who we signed from West Ham back in January) to nod home.

Not much to discern about the team at this stage other than to say that Sandro Tonali looks to be (in the mordern parlance that seems to be common today) a real "baller". High work rate, comfortable in possession, good crisp passer of the ball, good vision, strong. Head and shoulders above any other player on the pitch for the first half hour. Almiron also had bright moments (scored the goal with a typical low left foot curler). Schar and Botman were dominant in defence. 17yo Lewis Miley also had a good full second half in Midfield showing some encouraging touches and passing. Anthony Gordon was also lively and confident, strong in the tackle and showed good levels of control and trickery and an understanding (that sometimes evades St. Maximin) of when he's done enough and should release the ball to a team mate.

Guimares looked totally off the pace, being caught several times in possession and dispossessed for the Rangers equaliser. Callum Wilson also looked a yard short of pace but hopefully that will come.

No sign of St. Maximin in the party that travelled to Ibrox. Read into that what you will.

From what you could hear on the TV stream 8,000 visiting fans provided most of the noise inside Ibrox.

Villa, Brighton, Chelsea, Fiorentina and Villareal our remaining PSF's.

Yea of course - but he's not shy about abusing his position of fame to get what he wants without worrying about the consequences and boasting that women basically threw themselves at him.
And again, he is not the only one to "abuse" his position of fame, fortune or power to attract the ladies. Not everyone has a beautiful face or cracking personality, and so they use other traits to woo the opposite sex.

If we all were famous and mega rich, we shouldn't be surprised if we suddenly got more attention from the opposite sex. And many of us may well quite enjoy it, and even boast about it a little.

Perhaps if we were Big Brother, and able to expose the entire private life of every young, rich and famous man, then Mendy wouldn't look quite so bad, maybe even fairly average? Even if you were to expose the private life of every university student (or any young person really), there would be many more extreme bedroom stories. I've heard some crazy stories about some of the nicest guys I know.

Also, if the media, like the Sun Newspaper, got hold of our private lives, I think a lot of us could be made to sound horrific, and make everyone else hate us. Is Mendy truly a nasty guy because of his sex life, or is he actually a nice enough guy generally? Or do we just judge people based on how many people they sleep with?

Howe's been very upfront about ASM and said hes up for sale. Need to raise cash to make more signings.

You need a striker IMO. If you manage to flog ASM to Saudi and add a ST it will be business very well done this summer considering your FFP issues.

Could we take a moment away from the serious stuff to acknowledge that West Ham are now champions of 2 continents...
Saw the match stats for this and couldn't believe it. I think we had around 28 shots to your 4 and about 70-30 % possession. If they don't hurry up and sign a couple of centre backs I'll have to get used to that I think.

If it's just a rolling contract to play in some friendlies and train, I get it, he probably still has friends on the coaching staff there who are simply doing him a favour so he can keep fit. He was at the club for a decade.

Man United should not be in the business of giving minutes out for free to players who wont play for them.

No premier league team should be.

You can let them train without pay, playing the friendlies is what blows my mind tbh.
