So a week or so after the window open and players have come and gone but how do you think your team is looking ? Any glaring gaps ? Exciting signings ? potential deals ahead

Obviously we lost a fair few players on free

Bobby , Ox , Keita and Milner leaving

Bobby was replaced by Gakpo

MacAllister and Szoboslai coming in had filled two of the spots

Think a CB will arrive and Phillips will leave , also been talk of Kelleher and Kostas leaving

And there is I think one more defensive mid coming in - reports of it being Lavia

If we get those two in then the squad looks a lot stronger than last season

Looking at the other big teams

City have lost a key player but brought in a solid replacement in Kovacic , looking to bring in Gvardiol who is very solid so not sure if a CB is leaving. Their squad will be hair as strong

Arsenal - Havertz arriving , still not sure why they bought him because they have Odegaard and Smith Rowe in their squad , Rice will prob replace Partey and Kimber if he arrives will give solid back up to the back 4. Still think they need someone for the front line and will need to rely on Martinelli and Saka - but clearly going to be there again

Newcastle - just bought someone called Minteh ? Think they need to do a good amount of work to go again next season with the extra games in Europe

Man Utd - have added Mount who prob replaced Erkisen but still have issues through the middle up top , GK , CB and wide players - apparently crippled by FFP and can only spend £130mil - half gone on Mount

Chelsea - shipping out lots of deadwood and poor signings from last season , Nkunku is a good player , Jackson looks bright , still a lot of work to do for Pochettino

Happy with both Tilemans and Torres (completing this week apparently) so far.

Worrying to see Ramsey get injured this evening for England - only hope it’s not serious but he left on crutches.

Certainly need some additions to the forward areas now though. Would also like Archer to be given a chance to backup Ollie.

Need to shift some of these (even for low fees) -

Nakamba
Sanson
Wesley
Traore
Hause
Coutinho

We've signed someone I've never heard of - Manor Soloman. No idea. A winger I think.

Still desperately need a couple of defenders. Links to Laporte are still knocking around, I think that would be excellent. Seems unlikely though.

You are probably having the most active window so far. Keeper signed, Maddison, your loan bloke Kule whatsitt signed, this guy. All done early to allow for a good pre season. Solid stuff, to entice Harry do you think? Everything changes if he goes but otherwise very decent.

Meanwhile, Everton are still pondering whether to take on a free agent and the pie seller from Southport FC, his terms are tough

He was at Fulham last year - was at Donesk but was able to leave his contract

Fulham wanted him to stay

Looks like back up to Son etc

My honest feeling is that Kane will stay this year and run down his contract, then next summer he has free reign to decide where to go. He would have more options then due to there being no transfer fee. I think his preference would be to stay in England, but the offers aren't flying in right now due to the fee Levy would want. So makes sense to do one more year. Even at 30-31 next season he can easily join a big club for free and win a couple of trophies before he retires. I reckon he'll still be banging goals until age 35.

Only needs what 2-3 seasons to break the record

Maybe he will stay at spurs? He doesn't seem in a rush to leave anymore

Yeah, it's a weird one. The only time I thought he actively wanted to leave was when City were interested, two years ago. Because that essentially guarantees you trophies. The only other club that guarantee trophies are Bayern, maybe Real Madrid.. but then no Prem goal record. And I believe he really wants that record as well. So not a great deal of point in forcing a move now to a club where he might not actually be any better off. At least if he runs the contract out he'll have plenty of options.

Kane should be looking to find a way to get some trophies - leaving to go to a club where he will get a better chance , Munich would give him that chance

But we all know Kane is all about those personal records and getting as many goals as possible- it’s why he tries to play in every single game possible

A Prem goal scoring record can be broken , winners medals can’t be taken away

He could finish his career winning nothing but goal scoring records which are more about the individual

Wouldn't be surprised to see him run down his contract, go to Newcastle as they push for trophies like the fa cup etc on a 2 year deal and then once the records broken off to Bayern to win a trophy

I only think there’s no rush because he knows what his plan is. Levy is pricing him out of a move - he now has no loyalty to Levy at all after he chose not to honour their gentleman’s agreement - and will leave on a free next year.

To me, it’s absolutely stupid as hell from Levy. Just flog him for £40-50m now and let him go. No one’s paying £100m for a guy with 1 year left at the age of 29. Dumb business.

Would actually be pretty funny if he broke Shearer's record at Newcastle just for bants.

Imagine, that goal aswell he does the old shearer appeal that he is offside celebration

Well the market is mental , arsenal look set to pay £105 million for rice who only has 2 years left

Have to admit I thought 80 was the tops

Palace sticking with Hodgson for the forthcoming season - hopefully that doesn’t mean the likes of Eze and Elise get smothered

Still don't get your mentality on this. What's the point of taking £50mil for him, where does that get us? Can't get a decent striker for that now let alone a replacement for Harry Kane. No chance of replacing him so might as well keep him as long as you can.

I believe a lot of it is down to fear.

i.e. If we want his guy we had better pay this inflated amount, because if we don't then someone else might (or even worse, might pay less).

I thought (also out of fear) we would accept 80 or so just to not lose out on a fee

Good business all round imo

Because if Spurs lose him anyway next season, by not selling him this season you are just delaying the inevitable. That includes delaying the time in which Spurs can look to rebuild their squad (as at the moment Harry Kane will still be the main guy in any system they play).

So, does Levy sell him now and look to start afresh, with money in his pocket. Or, wait another season before starting afresh with no money in his pocket? (I'd imagine he'd still get more than £50 million for him now)

So, if Levy refuses to take, say £80-100 million for Kane now, then that is effectively the price he is paying to have Kane for the single 2023/24 season. Is that worth it? I don't think any manager would pay that amount of money to have Kane for a single season.
