£100mil only gets you one Romelu Lukaku, that's not a replacement for Kane at all. You'd have to start at £150m and head north of that, and we're never spending that anyway. He won't ever be 'replaced'.

But you’ll have to if he walks away on a free? So surely it’s better to get some financial compensation for it than nothing at all?

Do you really think Spurs finish above 4 of City, Arsenal, United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle next season?

That’s before we talk about Brighton and Villa too?

I understand Ange is yet to show what he’s got, but really? It’s got to be better to sell now and try and sign the guy to replace him than put it off for 12 months?

Unless you know something we all don’t and he does sign a new deal? But I don’t think anyone thinks he’s doing that.

I'd rather have one more year of him playing for us than £50million and a guarantee we finish no higher than 8th. I don't think £50mil gets us anywhere. That's all. I'm done with this now.

Lol - if he goes now it’s more funny than the first time 😂

Sounds like a done deal. He was an absolute hero for me growing up and I've been very vocal that I would love him to be a Liverpool manager. But only if he has the CV, skillset and experience for it. at the moment, sadly, that job is about where he's at. He's clearly not good enough to manage in the PL. He is currently demonstrating that a sublime footballer does not a sublime manager make.

Will he become a top manager? maybe. But he's a long way from it right now.

He should have set his ego to one side and sought a job in the Championship or lower leagues. He will learn far more about club management there than he is likely to in Saudi Arabia.

He’s not interested in developing his managerial CV. This is all about the money.

Yep agree - it’s all very disappointing and it’s purely about the money

He did well at Rangers and initially at Villa but didn’t work out

There would have been no shame to drop down to the Championship and rebuild from there

I agree, he’s not going to prove anything in this league. Some great managers have proved themselves In the championship over the years, should have swallowed his pride but now he’s cashing in on his name.

We said that about Aguero being replaced 👍

meanwhile City make a steady £29 million on the quiet selling a keeper to Burnley for upwards of £19 million with a 20% selling on fee and a buy back clause.
Also make £10 million from the Pedro Porro deal at spurs.

That seems an utterly mad buy from Burnley. Surely could get a proven prem keeper cheaper than that

I mean if city made this punt I'd get it.. money to throw around but Burnley?

He never played for Middlesbrough? He's never played above league 1?
Apologies. I Googled "Burnley FC" and then read the Top Stories section, and my eye caught an article related to Zack Steffen. Opened up with "Burnley have contacted representatives of Zack Steffen after Manchester City told the goalkeeper is allowed to leave"

I didn't realise they were in for another Man City goalkeeper, James Trafford.

I guess with Vincent Kompany as manager, Burnely are looking to see if Man City will give them loads of hand me downs. And Man City are playing them along, saying sure we will, then managing to get a decent amount of money for them.
