Trafford has been playing in the European Under 21 Championships this last couple of weeks.

Has looked very solid and accomplished. In a world where half decent players seem to go for 30-40 mil, 19 mil on a promising young keeper with all of his career ahead of him doesn't seem so bad.

That seems an utterly mad buy from Burnley. Surely could get a proven prem keeper cheaper than that

I mean if city made this punt I'd get it.. money to throw around but Burnley?
I kinda get vinnies train of thought. £15 million initially for maybe Englands future number one. 🤔👍

An interesting read re the highest transfer fees paid.
There is also a table of the top nine transfer fees paid.
It don’t make good reading for the business Utd have done.
Of the top nine. VVD looks the best at the moment with his longevity at Liverpool

Wow. Of this list how many were actually a success? Van Dijk, Grealish.. I think that's it.

For those thinking Kane should stay at Spurs, or in the PL, to break Shearer's record, https://www.worldfootball.net/alltime_goalgetter/eng-premier-league/tore/1/

Not really worth it to get to 4th best of all time in the English top tier. Getting to 3rd is not much further but 2nd is another season away and 1st is out of sight. All whilst getting older and the likely decline in scoring rate that will happen. Go to Bayern Harry, it's worth more than a record that is really a bit of sleight of hand 😆

Who the hell are all those people? Not sure how there's so many names on there when football was only invented in 1992. Fake news.

It's something we should remind ourselves of every now and again. It wasn't a cheap dig at Kane, he is a superb player, genuinely world class, but a world before the PL did exist no matter what Sky tell us. When you look at the goal ratio of Dixie Dean or the sheer number of goals from Greaves, they have to be respected. It justs makes the guff of wanting to stay to beat the record pretty meaningless imo. Stay because you love Spurs, family are happy etc, all fine. The record, nah.

Football was only invented in 1992 . That was ground zero and anything before doesn’t count

Wonder how many of those other players have no trophies to their name

I also feel Ian Rush should have his time at Leeds and Newcastle removed from his record. Having your useless twin brothers record added to your own is plain unfair. Has any player dropped off a cliff more than Rush after he left Liverpool?

Defenders were all fat smokers and alcoholics in their day though weren't they? Different game now. 😛

In fairness, it had already occurred to me that when Kane breaks Shearer's record, you just know Al will bring up the 23 additional league goals he scored in 'Division One'.

In fairness he was 35 when he left us , prob should have retired then

He and Barnes both came to Newcastle to top up their pensions when they should have packed in. Hard to turn down a silly pay day when it is nearly over I guess but they were not good sights to watch.
I bet they werent

I guess it must be hard for some players to admit that they can’t play at the highest level anymore - MLS etc would have been perfect for them

Am waiting to hear all the hoopla about Gerrard taking Saudi money.....

You are a bit late

seems city have all the best young keepers.

We've thrown best part of 20m at you with Gunn n Bazuna lol

It’s part of the model for most clubs i suspect now - get in the younger players , develop a bit and then sell for profit , helps balance the books and every now and then they grab a diamond
