Worst penalty ever?
Which player is right by the ball ? Rashford
Thought Richards made a good point in regards Rashford interfering
The defender stepped up to make sure he was offside so that’s Rashford interfering with the play because the defender took himself out of the game to ensure he was offside
Rules are rules .So, you'd rule out Grealish's goal as well? Harsh
Worst penalty ever?
To be fair, Chelsea have some good players on the bench, barely getting a game. They may have to pay off some of the wages but the players themselves are decent.wanting to sell and being able to sell 2 very different things as weve found out the last few years, especially when players on top end wages and in no rush to go
It would still contribute more than Chris Wood ?What if the bench is plastic?
Fair enough, but if I was a betting man, fans would think didallowing Grealish's goal would be even more outrageous. You would probably have to stop wingers running forward and crossing from goal line, as they'll never get back onside before striker attacks crossRules are rules .
at least they would be black and white.
is that not better than this mish mash we have now purely for VAR.
I see lots of penalty spots cut up just where you plant your foot.Worst penalty ever?
It took an age to take the penalty, plenty of time for Newcastle players to cut it upI see lots of penalty spots cut up just where you plant your foot.
its difficult to repair as most are based on sand.
bit surprising to see that on a PL pitch Though.
Yes that’s why they changed it .Fair enough, but if I was a betting man, fans would think didallowing Grealish's goal would be even more outrageous. You would probably have to stop wingers running forward and crossing from goal line, as they'll never get back onside before striker attacks cross
DeBruyne crossed it from in the box. It was changed for very good reason, and I think it has stuck. I've used my friend Google, I believe the "interfering with play" concept has been around since 1903, so 120 years. The current rule probably tries to do a "better" job of defining what that actually means, as I'm sure we'll all agree interfering with play is ridiculously subjective.Yes that’s why they changed it .
it used to be like that years ago .
maybe only in the penalty area then so wingers / fullbacks bombing on are not caught out.
something has to be done.
forgot about that ?No. Thierry Henry playing in Robert Pires from the penalty spot wins that by some distance.

But the part in red isn't part of the offside rule. So which of the following offenses has Rashford committed?
"2. Offside offence
A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched* by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by:
or
- interfering with play by playing or touching a ball passed or touched by a team-mate or
- interfering with an opponent by:
- preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or
- challenging an opponent for the ball or
- clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent or
- making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball
I haven't seen the incident and have only seen still photos but "interfering with the play because the defender took himself out of the game" isn't an offside offence. In my opinion it should be offside in that situation, in exactly the same way that the Salah goal should be offside as the defender played the ball knowing Salah was behind him, but with the current shambles of an offside rule I can see why both were given.
- gaining an advantage by playing the ball or interfering with an opponent when it has:
- rebounded or been deflected off the goalpost, crossbar or an opponent
- been deliberately saved by any opponent"
Where’s big Stu la at?

Nowt to gloat about. He'll be back if Liverpool turn things around or England lose.
On another note - did the kit man put the Arsenal tracksuit tops on a hot wash??
On another note - Merson is so annoying.
