I dislike both teams equally so for the little it's worth, I'm pleased Sesko's goal stood. It was impossible to tell if it brushed a finger so the onfield decision stood. That's how it should be.

Konate was a bit naughty but he nudged him comfortably on the pitch, not near the edge. The fault is with the design of the drop off, not the defender. It's dangerous and Utd have done nothing to resolve it.

Fernandes was lucky, I suspect being grounded, feet at ground level also, saved him. Could have gone either way but a yellow was about right, maybe worth an orange 😄.

Ultimately, not a lot of quality but utd won't care.

Wirtz was anonymous today.
I think the lack of quality around him causes this.

Macallister needs to go .
Frimpong just isn’t good enough.

But against a poor UTD team once we got the second we need to see out a game.
Yes try and win but we should not loose a game like that the defending from both teams was woeful.
But at least UND have something in attack ,we havnt.

It has always made me nervous. We don’t have the players for it. And trying to give a player the ball for him to take on the half turn on the edge of your own D is just asking for trouble.

Still, Lammens has been class since he came in. I’ll allow him that one.

(Might have had a different view if Mainoo hadn’t come to the rescue).
Even if we did have the players for it, Lammens pass was horrific so wouldnt have made a difference.

I'll definitely forgive him based on what he has done all season. And all goalies make errors from time to time. But I'd love to know what he was thinking. Pass was never on, and he does go long a lot.

I was simply replying to your "textbook" comment and the fact a qualified official disagreed with you. I said I didn't see it to be open about my position.

The handball was unclear. And Liverpool deserved to be 2 nil down at that stage, so zero sympathy if those associated with Liverpool want to be saved on a technicality.

It was all about Utd today. Easy first half. Gave Liverpool the biggest two gifts they have probably done all season. Just greatful Mainoo got the goal I believe Utd deserved
So you think Qualified officials don’t get things wrong now and again.

Me too, EPL signing of the season in my book.

Let me know when you have actually seen it.!

From behind.
Nowhere near the ball.
Studs on his ankle.

That’s textbook for me.
I wonder when this happens if the onfield ref decides to just book the player and rely on VAR deciding if should be red.
Are refs deliberately just using VAR as a crutch?
I don’t recall any player being sent off this season by the onfield ref for a tackle/foul where before it came in it was quite common.
As an aside I think it’s one that sometimes gets yellow and sometimes gets red.
Inconsistency again

Respect to Slot. Rather than bemoaning the fact the ball may have brushed Sesko’s finger tips for United’s second, he focused on how his side conceded it.

I wasn’t expecting that, I must say.

It’s studs on the ankle - we have seen them given and even less as a red

And watching it again that’s touched his hand for the second goal
I have watched it a number of times and the evidence is inconclusive, hence the infield decision should stand.

VAR relies upon a two dimensional medium (television) to assess a three dimensional situation.
