What were Spurs thinking with that appointment? A manager that's never managed in England and has been a failure almost everywhere else. Relegation would be the best thing as it would force a total reset.

World Cup matches will effectively be shown in quarters rather than halves as broadcasters seize on mandatory new breaks to show more TV adverts.

ITV appears increasingly likely to broadcast commercials during each half after being given a Fifa green light to exploit water breaks this summer.

The opportunity for TV companies to break with football tradition comes after three-minute breaks during each half were confirmed in December.

Just had a look at Spurs’ remaining league fixtures and, applying my Super 6 prowess, I reckon they are realistically looking at another 3-6 points maximum. And I’d err on the side of 3, with draws against Forest, Brighton and Wolves.

The rest look really tough fixtures. They are in big, big trouble.
