And what’s wrong with that? They are managing the ball in play. It’s up to the opposition to get the ball off them.
Then we’d have numerous posters on the forum complaining the footballs boring and they play that way to waste time and it’s “not football”

Oh wait…………….

Except of course were a team could be ahead and seeing the clock they’ll keep possession and go backwards running down the time with the guess work taken out of it.
Oh, I don't mind having a visible clock. I'm just saying it's up to the players to have a sense of time in order to choose whether to take their time passing sideways or lump it forwards. They have some responsibility in this.

Nothing, its tactics, but also boring and people want to see entertaining football for the whole duration, its just a downside to a visible clock, almost like American Football were there is a minute or so left on the clock and a team takes the snap.

That's on the players, it really is. You ask the ref how long is left or gauge it from experience. The issue now is the obsession with possession, the fear of giving it away. Sometimes you have to take a risk
To an extent, you are correct. But, when 5, 6, 7, etc minutes are added on, players will never really know where they are to the nearest 30 seconds. They may even be miles out, might not even have realised exactly when 45 or 90 mins officially passed.

I sometimes wonder why a manager or coach isnt screaming, as they probably have their own clock.

I play over35's footy, 18 mins each way. Sometimes a few minutes flies by, sometimes it feels like it takes a week.

But if the team without the ball are harrying the team with the ball, a high press… But when it’s down to the last 10 mins and both teams are playing out a cagey draw…
