Well, maybe after the Arsenal game at least, then we can see how Utd do against those types of teams.

Was shocked that City seemed to do very little to find Haaland. I knew you'd be weak at the back, but I was wondering if that was the most comfortable we've been in defence all season

United have, by the standards set in recent years, performed well against the top sides this season. The opener against Arsenal was a solid performance, and we have now beaten Liverpool, Chelsea, City and Newcastle. It’s those down the bottom we have struggled against, but we aren’t alone. I saw that this is the first time Liverpool have failed to beat any of the promoted sides at home.

As regards the performance today, where has that level of intensity been? As anyone who watched will say, that wasn’t a lucky win, it was very much deserved. Two goals, hit the woodwork twice, three goals ruled out and half a dozen or so great stops by Donnarumma. It really could have been a thumping.

Great atmosphere too. A good day.

Shame that goal was ruled out,it was a corker.

It certainly helped having Mbeumo and Amad back, Bruno looked match fit and Dorgu has finally shown some good football.

And having Bruno is a more attacking position is what many have cried out for all season.

It also helped that City's defence was garbage. Not even Rodri could protect them.

If we can get away with a back 4 without being hit on counter by the teams that play deep, then hopefully we'll have more technical players on pitch to try and unlock the opposition. We'll see.

If most stay fit, I'd be surprised if we see Zirkzee again

Watched most of the Manchester derby in London before heading off to our game. Superb stuff and probably the best Utd performance I've seen for a year or two.

Carrick picked the formation that allows the best players to shine. Amad is a world class right winger/forward that has been mismanaged for years. Mbeumo looked great up top and Bruno is better further forward. Night and day compared to the side that drew with Wolves and lost at Everton at home. Players make a huge difference but the biggest difference is always the manager IMO.

They played very well , best I have seen a United side play for a while

Whilst city were very poor Man Utd destroyed them in the middle of the park

And it could have been 4 or 5 and it wouldn’t be the wrong score

It was the intensity and pace with which United played on the break which impressed me the most.

The first goal summed up why I’m a United fan. That’s the sort of football I want to see, and it’s been missing, in the main, for far too long.

I've it before but that's the Utd way. Wingers and pace in attack. I was never bashing Utd, I was bashing Amorim as he never fitted that mould. Obviously you can't always play like that and there's a need to keep it tight but that's how it should be, especially at home.

Seriously impressive start from Carrick.

Football as got boring now compared to 20years ago imo.
Maybe it’s nostalgia 🤷‍♂️

But teams now seem to play to not lose, rather than go out to win in big games.

Pep gets blamed for killing the game with tippy tappy football, but I’m not having that.
He doesn’t dictate how others play.

Bring back old school 442 🙌
