It is an anthem
That voices allegiance to the crown and country. Be it Mancs, Brummies, geordies, scousers etc etc. It is not an anthem To Maggie Thatcher. Never was and never will be.
For anyone that suggests that Liverpool was harder done by than most is quite frankly extracting the urine.
Try working underground and living like an animal extracting coal for 36 years and having that livelihood taken away. I was at Orgreave, I saw the nearest thing to a civil War on our Green and pleasant land. To me she is scum, and our children of today are paying for her “vision”.
But have I ever thought about booing the national anthem. Not a cat in hells chance. I am English and proud of it. So should the Mancs, brummies, Geordies, scousers etc etc.

If someone was sad/bored/interested enough to collect the data, I think it would be fascinating to see what "hit rate" the pundits and journos get on their pre-season football predictions (as a group).

Late reply - Ive never been woreied about losing Watkins.

1) He's very happy at Villa - makes it clear as such every time he scores at home.
2) He's not actually THAT good - he's good at our level but if you're a top 4 side, you need a better striker than Watkins. I love him, hes our guy, but hes not in the leagues of Isak and Haaland.
