If it’s not tribalism then what reason would a Palace fan for disrupting a minutes silence for a player passing away ?

Just the way the modern fan is ? A bit too much drink maybe - it’s why clubs are going to minutes applauses which I believe was asked for

Liverpool fans booing the anthem has been happening for a while and it’s nothing to do with disrespecting Palace - they have their reasons

It’s a shame a minority act like they do
Personally I think it’s about time they got the chip off their shoulder.

“Scouse not English “ is embarrassing

What’s the national anthem got to do with a Portuguese footballer who tragically died.?

We all know why they boo but the Establishment have had quite a while to do something about it but havnt.!

A very good article on it

Hey, I was just suggesting an answer to Phil's question.
To get a real answer you'd have to ask them.
The brains of some supporters is just something that can never be understood.
Unfortunately there's an element of those neanderthals at pretty much every game.
Decent supporters should call them out as they bring shame on their clubs.

Very much so and it’s a shame that the minority act in such a way

At least they weren’t on the sideline trying to punch players like we saw on Friday in the Ipswich match

Two vastly different situations which have been discussed at length when it comes to the Anthem

Time for the anthem to stop being played at these events

But if that’s the reason why some Palace fans felt it ok to disrupt the minutes silence it shows I guess the level of mentality
Just to point out, most people in the crowd are British. When the national anthem is booed, to some that is considered hugely disrespectful.

People have a right to not sing the anthem. But when booed, you should accept that will offend people.

What some Palace fans did during minutes silence was hugely disrespectful. However, it was inevitable. Because when tens of thousands are in crowd, there will be enough that will respond by believing "if Liverpool fans show clear signs of disrespect, then we will give them no respect back"

Liverpool fans can continue to defend their actions but the reason they have to is because it is offensive to others.

And that means they are ok to then disrupt a memorial for someone passing away ?

Why must the two be connected - is that how the brain of a football fan there works

Without going into the reasons, I’m not sure I agree that you think it’s OK to boo the anthem but then complain if someone else protests against something you believe in.

Maybe the palace fans who disrupted the silence are extremely patriotic English who didn’t like the anthem being booed?

And to be clear, I do not agree with disturbing any silence to remember someone who has passed. Like always, it seems to be a case of the minority getting the coverage they want.

The reasons why some Liverpool fans or even people from Liverpool boo the anthem is very much deep rooted for decades - I have no issues with their reasons behind it

For me people should always show respect for people that have passed away regardless and don’t think the two should be connected

But it’s times imo to stop playing the anthem and also to have minutes applause - it solves both issues

My opinion is that if at been a league match then there would have been a perfectly observed minutes silence, because there is no tribal animosity between these clubs.

The way this country is at the moment a certain demographic were always going to respond this way, and if you were honest you must have known it was coming. So don’t pretend it’s tribalism it’s an entirely predictable response to what had happened immediately before it.
