Looking forward, that is us 10 points clear of the bottom 3 now. We are attacking teams, we are pushing men forwards. We might not be silky but we are so much better than under Dyche. He never seemed to realise that you need to push players forward to score goals on a regular basis. Hopefully, the players can relax a little more now, as can the fans, and the quality can start to improve.

Fingers crossed that Ndiaye is not seriously hurt as well. He has been a breathe of fresh air for us this season.

Nuno Espírito Santo received a three game ban earlier this season, so I have full confidence the authorities will be consistent and apply the same sanction to Mr Slot.

Coming back to this it will be interesting to see what the red card for

It seems that it was for shaking the refs hand aggressively and with intent ?!

As opposed to anything he said

Have you seen/read anything official about what it was actually given for? (I haven’t)

Nuno’s was for saying some hurty words to the referee. My thought was that Slot did the same, but I could be wrong. If it was for a handshake it won’t stick. Will be interesting to see.

I thought it was something he said as well

Podcast has it a gesture before hand when he didn’t give a free kick to Salah and then the handshake

The report will be interesting

Watching them made me think of a probably apocryphal story from my work.
Bloke says to his boss, "I know you can discipline me for what I say, but I can't be punished for my thoughts, can I?"
"No, of course not."
"That's good, because I think you're a..."

You mean for physical assault rather than naughty words? :)

Heh heh. I suppose it's all down to the intent in stuff like this isn't it?

Our owner was given a several-match stadium ban earlier this season because he spat near a referee. The powers that be did not accept his defence of having throat issues linked to his cigar smoking. They decided the intent was there.

So, if they apply the same level of justice for all, if the referee felt there was intent there from Mr Slot, he will have a job to convince them otherwise. I'm confident he'll get a three-match ban because they're always fair and level with this kinkd of stuff, no matter which club they're dealing with. :)

This angle shows a bit more of Slot's fury, firstly at the assistant ref:

Looks like he's using foul and abusive language. I'm no professional lip-reader but it looks like he's saying "it's a ***ing disgrace". Can't say that sort of stuff to the officials. Three match ban incoming, 100%.

The refs report will as we all know will show it all

Been a lot of managers approach refs when there have been some “incidents” and the managers need to keep their cool - some are being punished , some ignored

Need to be consistent- if he had said something then he prob will get an extra 2 games

Seen loads slagging Everton off for over celebrating, they just don't get it.

You can’t blame the celebrations

It’s the last minute

The last Derby at their historical home

And they get a point

The “slagging” off is more just a bit of mickey taking

It was a massive game for them - and the result especially the way it happened will be a massive boost for them

It’s not a bad point all around

Whatever he did or said, the referee deemed it serious enough to be a straight red. Clearly Slot wasn't going up to him to give him a friendly handshake after the match.

So, maybe he did say something he shouldn't have done, and perhaps that will get picked up on Oliver's microphone.

Or, he thought he be smart and say nothing at all, but felt attempting to crush Oliver's hand in quite a painful handshake was the loophole that he could take in venting his anger. Of course, if managers felt they could inflict a bit of pain on a referee in this manner, then they'd all start doing it.

So, I'm not sure Slot will get away from punishment, unless Oliver was deemed to be over-reacting.

Michael Oliver is one of the calmest, even tempered, refs on the circuit. I don't think he has ever been seen over reacting.

The manager was a clown. If he was that angry he should have just gone straight to the dressing room. A touchline ban wont impact Liverpool this season, the title is theirs, but it is still a poor look.
