Well we did all have to put up with the 90’s and 00’s when they lorded it above everyone 😂

Relegation would a joy for many 😂
Football works in circles. The grief we had from Liverpool fans in the 80's was bad. Even worse, though, was the grief we got from them in the 90's and 00's when, despite being an embarrassment at that time, Liverpool fans would still continue to scream about them being the greatest and best club in the world, and keep quoting their trophy haul (until the numbers didn't work in their favour at least). In my experience anyway.

The credit I'll give many Man Utd fans now is that they admit Man Utd are an embarassment. They know they are an awful side and don't try and claim anything different.

Absolutely massive game for the Villa tonight away at Monaco.

Win tonight and we have one solid foot in the top 8 of the CL and a bye through the next round.

Funny that they predicted 15 points as enough for top 8, its likely to be 17ish actually.

We can do this! UP THE VILLAAAA!

What about me though, I was on the grief train before we won the lot. There is hope. Along with a few billion.
Yes, but for Man City it is the equivalent of a 10 handicapper not being able to get anywhere near winning a competition, and then cheating the handicap system to increase their handicap to 25, and then winning the lot. The handicap secretary will catch you eventually ;)

Ah but the next chapter in the story is that the handicap secretary just gives the 10 handicapper a derisory slap on the wrists that doesn’t punish him in any way and then the 10 handicapper just carries on as before.

I'm sure that scousers are more obsessed with United that they are with Liverpool.
It's quite remarkable yet, at the same time, quite sad.

😂

Not at all

It’s a forum - bad news or laughter is prob more appropriate these days

Im sure its Man Utd fans that sing about scousers during their games ( even when they aren’t playing Liverpool )

Another conclusion that, as frustrating as it is because Man Utd are so embarrassingly poor, it is flattering that a few fans of another club spend a significant amount of their time reading about Man Utd and sharing their views on Man Utd. Especially when that dedication comes at the expense of spending much less time on their own club.

And, what is worse? A Liverpool fan talking about Man Utd, or a Liverpool fan talking about Liverpool and how they are the greatest club in the world that can do no wrong, and how all other clubs are worse in comparison? I think it is easiest for everyone that the Liverpool fan(s) stick to Man Utd bashing, and it is just the sacrifice us Man Utd fans need to make for the good of everyone else. :ROFLMAO:

To be fair, your club makes more news than my club does - its hard not to read United news, always on the front pages of websites etc.

Indeed. media are obsessed as well. 50% of the time I happen to tune into TalkSport, they seem to be discussing Man Utd.

I suppose it is down to fan bases though. There are a hell of a lot of Man Utd fans in the UK. There are also a hell of a lot of Liverpool fans in the UK (many of whom seem to have a huge obsession with Man Utd). So, I guess the media just have to report on things that as many people as possible have an interest in. I'm sure there are a few other fans that don't mind negative reports on either club, but I suspect many get bored by it.

They spent years with claims of being the biggest club in the world ,they were loving it when everyone was talking about them when they were doing well

Now it’s moaning because everyone is talking about them

Good news doesn’t create traffic

Bad news gets everyone talking

Media and others will focus on big clubs doing badly - because it creates traffic

It’s not much different to some Chelsea fans being obsessed with Liverpool

Or some Man Utd fans being obsessed with Nunez or Trent

Forest lowballing Brentford for Yoane Wissa 🤣🤣🤣

With memories of when they lowballed us for Brennan Johnson in mind, I blinkin’ love my club’s owner! 🤣🤣🤣
To be fair, it's not *that* Low - as he's only got 18 months left on his contract. Wouldn't want to see us bid more than £30m

I believe it's already been rejected, but Brentford's fanbase are already suitably rattled, so job done :)

West Ham keep trying the same with Duran... Should have paid up in summer lads...

Find me a football fan that wouldn't be proud of their club if it was achieving what Man Utd were achieving during the first 20 years or so of the Premier League. But I honestly do not believe at all that, in general, Man Utd fans were "loving it when everyone else were talking about them". I couldn't have cared less about what other people were talking about, my primary focus was on what Man Utd were doing at the time. 90% of the things I talked about were about my club, and that is what I saw from other Man Utd fans. I think this is a conclusion you have wrongly made to try and justify how you dedicate your life to football?

There will always be mocking between rivals. But, when Man Utd were at their best, I dedicated only a very very small fraction of my time laughing at the state of Liverpool. I was taking joy from what my Club were doing. And, if I was paying more attention to other clubs at times, it was more likely to be clubs like Blackburn, Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City when they were our main challengers. Very little attention was paid to Liverpool, except when we played against each other. I think it would have been quite sad if I missed out on a lot of that joy back then, because much of my attention was on another Club and how badly they were doing.

Just to clear up a few other points. How many Chelsea fans are obsessed with Liverpool, this is something I never realized was a thing? I don't think any Man Utd fans are obsessed with Nunez or Trent. ALL fans that don't support Liverpool have pretty much called out Nunez as a flop or TAA as a poor defender. These discussions seem to begin at relevant times (i.e. when Liverpool are playing and an incident happens to generate that discussion). I don't think Man Utd fans are exclusively beginning conversations on either player, at random times, because they are obsessed with those players.

Also, just wanted to point out a contradiction. Your first line stated Man Utd fans loved it when all the talk was about them when they were doing well. Your 3rd line says good news doesn't create traffic.

I have to say

You’re thinking far too much about it all 😂

For someone who “couldn’t care less what other people” are talking about you certainly write a lot of paragraph about what other people are talking about 😂

It’s a forum - it’s prob not that much reflective of life

People will talk about other clubs

that’s about it

I guess it’s going to to come to a head soon though

It’s going to be hard to keep him and Duran happy so one will prob need to leave

But have to wonder why Duran would want to go to West Ham - unless it’s a case of getting a starting place , surprised others aren’t looking at him
