Mainoo and Ugarte were better than Gravenbach and Jones on Sunday ?

We’re still miles away as a squad and not close to Liverpool but at least now we appear to have a plan and system !

Mainoo was very good last Sunday and his legs were key to getting those first balls

There is definitely and plan and system now, it’s just going to take time to get the players to fit that system now , tough with the financial issues

Which current top team does any of them get into 🤷‍♂️

Amad would prob make the bench at Arsenal because of their thin squad
All of them as individuals would stand a chance as they are all PL players.

The reverse of your question is how many players from the current top teams would produce the same form for Utd

There are differing levels of “prem players” someone playing in the bottom half teams will still be a PL player but only the really top players would stand out in most teams

I agree 100%. That’s why we need to get rid of Casemiro, Rashford, Eriksen, Anthony and Shaw etc.

It’s the sum of all parts for 99% of Players, what’s the guarantee Salah would score goals in the current Utd set up? Who’s to say Hojlund wouldn’t excel playing for LPool or City.

On paper Salah is a different level, but he’s in a succesful, fairly settled team who know his strengths and play to it.

What? All four go straight into your Liverpool team?

You were making the point that no United players walk into any of the top TEAMS. If you’re now lowering the threshold to squads that’s an entirely different argument.

Either Murilo or Milenkovic could easily replace Konate alongside VVD , think Aina is the same level as Bradley and Anderson in the three in the middle alongside McAllister and Gravenburch

So, given Bradley is a squad player and far from a regular starter, that means you’d happily take Aina on your squad. Or are you saying he’s a regular starter ahead of TAA, given he’s Liverpool’s first choice down that right side?

You clearly made the point that no United player gets in a top TEAMS, meaning that you think none are good enough to be regular starters. And when asked about Forest players you pick a handful for your squad.

Very difficult to debate if the goalposts are constantly shifting!

Even when Utd win, the obsessed still try to find ways to knock them down.

But, relevant to the conversation, I'd have had TAA absolutely nowhere near the Utd side the last few years. Crossing is pointless as we don't have a forward who can head a ball. And given how easily the attack gave the ball away, he'd be an absolute shocker trying to defend. That being said, perhaps he'd be less of a liability now with 3 at the back. Every side is different.

Plenty of players at Utd I like, who I'm sure could do a job when everything works well around them. I'm sure Bruno would be excellent in a well organised side that had lots of possession. I'm sure Amad would do an excellent job. Mainoo and Ugarte wouldn't look bad at all in a side with excellent players (didn't Mainoo get in England side last summer ahead of other players in top sides)

And, I like the centre backs, even Maguire. Every player has weaknesses. But, I'd love to see how many defenders can actually look good when their attack roll out the red carpet for the opposition to constantly hit quick counter attacks.

None of that is me saying they are all world greats. But, there are many starters in other top sides I personally wouldn't swap them for.

We’re splitting hairs, Phil.

Anyway, enjoyable game for me, and one from which I take lots of positives. A lot of work still to do, and I’m not naive enough to think otherwise, but the last two games has at least shown that it’s not all doom and gloom.

Now just watch us put in a horror performance against relegation rivals Southampton.

Knock United any further down and they would be in the bottom 3 😂

As much as I dislike Fernandes’s character, he would definitely fit in LPool’s/Arsenal/City midfield.

No chance for us , wouldn’t be near the squad

That will be interesting. A game where, technically, Utd should have most possession. How will the players deal with being on the ball, and having aggressive opponents at them all the time.
