hugely disappointed. I was really happy after the old Trafford game because we played the team infront of us rather than the occasion. Today the complete opposite.

Defensively so so poor. Going forward not much better.

That HAS to be a turning point in United’s season. The best performance we’ve put in for a while. Always in the game, and with an intensity which has been missing for too long.
The question is, can you repeat that next game up? Doing it at Anfield is surely a given, it's one of 'those' games

(Just seen you play Southampton at home next league game. That's an under arm game for you to build the confidence further 😄)

100%. Always been a brain fart waiting to happen. I'm happy to be honest about his failings...
TAA has licence to go forward.
The CB should cover him, UTD only had one up front .
In theory that’s the plan but when it’s not working like today Slot should have done something earlier imo.

Only difference is Walker had blistering pace to get him out of trouble.

Fair result in the end. I’m exhausted and encouraged by the effort Utd put in. As LT says, That’s the intensity they should show every match.

- I hope he starts Ugarte and Mainoo every game.

- Salah is some player !

- VVD - class

- Trent 🫣

- Onana - Solid again!

- Bruno, world class, i just wish he wouldn’t whinge as much as he does.

An encouraging display, and hopefully shows we have half a chance so long as we don't play 2 cast members from Last of the Summer Wine in central midfield.

Good to see Garnacho get an assist, even though I cursed him later on for being needlessly offside. And good reception for Zirkzee, and hopefully that'll help him going forward. Not a player I think Utd should have bought, but he is at the Club so hopefully Amorim can work out how to best utilise him and he gets a bit of confidence.

Dalot hasn't run past an opponent all season. Today he looked like Roberto Carlos / Cafu in their prime. But not sure I can give him too much credit, as I think my nan would have done well down that side of the pitch.

To be fair, until the last three games against Bournemouth, Wolves and Newcastle, United have been playing okay without really looking threatening. Then those games culminated with an abject performance against Newcastle. As bad as I’ve seen it.

One or two observers commented after that game that at least Amorim had nearly a week to work with his players. The longest he has had since he arrived. He now has another week before United travel to Arsenal. And if we’re being honest then, given a change in system which he is intent on sticking with, then time was very obviously needed.

But so too were the correct selections. And if Casemiro and Eriksen play as a pair again at this level I’ll be amazed. That was a shocker of a selection against Newcastle and lost us the game before it even started.

Mainoo and Ugarte were excellent today. But they, and those around them, need to turn up now every week. If they do that we might just stay up.

😉

Phil called it :) Must be his fault...tempted fate!

Sorry Phil :)
With all the noise the media were making their team talk for them

They just worked harder , first to most of the balls

We weren’t great and a draw is about right

But United need to do that in every match and not just against Liverpool

Its a good point for them

Fair to say Amorim is an angry man. Not with today’s performance, but with the fact he hasn’t seen that level of intensity every week.

And I’m delighted he’s angry. It’s what I want to hear from a United manager.

Given how both teams played, I’d say it’s actually a good point for Liverpool.

I have mixed feelings. At 1-2 I said to my lad that the performance was more important than the result, and I was seeing much to make me feel really, really positive. Not least the outstanding performances in the middle of the United midfield. So I wouldn’t have been too disappointed to have lost.

But having reflected on things and watched the game back, it’s starting to feel very much like two points dropped from a United perspective.

I just hope we now kick on. I’ll be fuming if we put in another huff and puff display against Southampton.
