I’ve seen it variously reported. Some articles portrayed it worse than others.

I agree it’s something which, in general terms, men and their partners need to be very aware of when recovering from surgery or radiotherapy. But I really was appalled to see even a hint that Gabby Logan was anything other than fully supportive and considerate in her response to her husband’s situation. She may have felt impatient - to admit it to him, and to confirm it to the whole world, is breathtakingly insensitive, however she seeks to justify it.

Anyway. Back to football…….

Mark Chapman would be okay, as long as pundits stop calling him Chappers. No man of that age should be known by a nickname.

We largely do in a roundabout way. If you don't subscribe to Sky, TNT or Amazon then clearly their payments are irrelevant, but you pay for ITV, CH4 via advertising (although you could argue that for the others as well). Anyway, the point there is that broadcasters have to pay a market rate to get decent people. BBC generally pay quite a bit less than market rate so whilst you may not like the sums involved, they are what it takes to get competent people.
