Finding it strange that Forest have been fined for criticising a referee when half the country’s fans know Howard Webb is a closet Utd fan. 😁👍

Nice really nice, as I stated it is right to challenge them in the correct forum, the tweet was calling a referree cheat, nothing more than that, i'm glad you are good with that, personally I am not, not from anyone at all especially a club owner or a club at all. Really shows how far people call fall, 2 wrongs making a right and then defending it. m8 I would be embarassed to post that soprt of rubbish in public.

Purely out of interest, can you give me an example of when “challenging them in the correct forum” has actually achieved anything? When has a club with an issue actually received anything back from them which actually MEANS something? (Genuine question)

I mean, Forest received multiple apologies from the PGMOL last season for refereeing mistakes (as did other clubs, I’m not saying we were unique). Some of ours were absolute howlers and the “punishment” for the refs in question was a week in the VAR room instead of being on the pitch. Then back again the week after.

Should we all just be happy with that? Them admitting they’re crap, but there being no actual comeback on the person who has made the mistake? Just a pathetic apology, which means absolutely nothing practical to the club who has been screwed over?

Don’t get me wrong. The Tweet was crazy and it came straight from the big crazy loveable Greek. But it was the result of repeated failure by the authorities to take responsibility for their own **** ups. We were always going to get a fine for it, but in the context of other fines that have been dished out for worse offences, it was way over the top.

And while I personally will stop short of calling any referees “cheats” I’m happy to admit I believe there is corruption and cover ups going on by the PGMOL on a regular basis. Proof came from chicken slaughterer Mike Dean:

"I said to Anthony afterwards: 'I just didn't want to send you to the screen after what has gone on in the game.'

"I didn't want to send him up because he is a mate as well as a referee and I think I didn't want to send him up because I didn't want any more grief than he already had."

He literally admitted to bending the rules to protect his mate. I don’t believe that sort of thing is a one off m8.

There is a difference between referees making mistakes because they are human and there isn’t a single referee in any sport who hasn’t made a mistake and a referee cheating and unfairly officiating against a team because they support another - and that’s what Forest have been fined for.

Every club has been subjected to referees making mistakes , been that way for years , they aren’t cheating and trying to help the club they support.

Afraid I have to agree. If Forest, or anyone attached to them, thought the FA would do anything other than throw the book at them for publicly alleging corruption amongst referees, then they were being breathtakingly naive.

I can see both sides of the Forest argument if I’m honest, but the amount of the fine baffles me.

The amount is peanuts in today’s game, if the FA really wanted to send a message about what happened then points is the only thing that would work.

There are big issues with the Officials and we keep accepting their mistakes because they are human, maybe the guy who put out the tweet made a mistake, after all, they are only human.

What about when they admit to protecting their mate who is having a tough day by bending the rules? Is that different? Is that ok? And do you believe the example I gave above is the only time it’s ever happened?

Without realising it, you are 100% correct - but you forget that there are more than 1 team in this country called United. Webb is a Rotherham Utd fan - up the millers 😄
