One a red card. One not. Is it too much to ask for a bit of consistency?
What’s happened here is two-fold.

1.) Bruno is the most dislikeable whopper to have ever played professional football, so he’s let it slide.

2.) Felipe is the most beautiful man God has ever created and the referee has clearly been distracted by this. Easily done to be fair. Found myself staring at a photo of him for 20 minutes one time.

S, you know more about football and pens than I do. However if it was 50/50 outside the box why is it not 50/50 inside. Surely there is no difference. I am not disagreeing with what you say I just think a foul is a foul. I accept you said 50/50 and I am not disputing what you said.
I agree with that, I simply bang my head against a wall when referees naje different decisions in and out of box. So, based on the incident, I never felt a penalty was a realistic shout.

That being said, when players run for the ball, inevitable bodies will collide. I'm happy enough that, even in or out of box, this one is a bit subjective.

Not sure, but VAR were apparently looking at it, and BBC showed it on replay

Apols. I was genuinely in and out for the last few mins putting the kids to bed. 🙄 So didn’t see it live.

Seen the stills posted here though and have agreed there is no consistency. Can point to so many times there have been inconsistencies. Its crap, simple as that. ☹️

I’d like to add, I’d pay good money for Felipe to do that to me, and I’m a happily married hetro-man.

Bruno should think himself lucky.

Personally, I don't think such things warrant a red card. Not like anyone was hurt, and sometimes things get a little heated.

But, as we all say. The consistency is appalling. When Casemiro, you had many pundits and the marvelous Mike Dean insist the red card was correct, as hands can't touch throat. This incident will never see the light of day, but even if it did, I can guarantee Dean would 100% back the decision, just call it a bit of handbags

Yeah, but no Forest player was blocked that was ever going to get the ball ahead of Casemiro. Still pictures don't tell the full story all the time
You’re not familiar with Murillo’s game I see 😂

(In all seriousness, you’re probably right, but OL’ lanky Varane could definitely have impeded one of two Forest players (Yates being first in line) but you’d never know whether or not they’d have got there).

It’s a bit of a silly rule anyway to be fair. Didn’t understand why the goal wasn’t given on Sunday and would have been puzzled had it not been given here.

It's a silly position for Varane to be in. If Bruno hit a deeper free kick, I think offside would have to be given in most cases.

I actually cursed as soon as Bruno hit free kick. I thought he fatted a low one. Was then shocked to see no Forest player short to cut it out, then even more surprised to see it go into net.

Sadly, I knew, as soon as the free kick was given that we’d likely concede. Happens every week. We cannot defend or score from a set piece, it’s an absolute nightmare 😂

No major surprises then although Leeds ran a very average Chelsea close. Can't see United winning despite home advantage. Thought United looked bang average again last night and huffed and puffed with little substance
