Can you not remember De Gea in his 1st season?

Yes. But De Gea, as far as I recall, wasn’t anywhere near as established as Onana is supposed to be, and was nowhere near as chained to his own line as Onana is. De Gea was weak on crosses, but at least he came for them.

Yeah. Although DeGea was a kid in his 1st season. I'd have hoped Onana would have matured enough by now to have a bit of a commanding presence.

I think DeGea was more of an age that growing and maturing as a player would be expected. I think there is less potential for Onana to do that.

That being said, seems we've had a different defence nearly every game, so probably difficult to build up an understanding in both open play and set plays

Onana is a truly terrible keeper

DDG was 21 when he signed for United. Raw talent

Onana like you say is established, he's 27.. these errors should be behind him.

Chained to his own line? I saw him with both feet behind the line on one occasion when the ball was pinging around in the area. Who on earth is doing the recruitment at Utd?

I don’t think he’s terrible - there are some positives - but his all round game is nowhere near at the level you would expect given his age and alleged pedigree.

Maybe he’s just another top quality player who is unsuited to the Premier League. He certainly wouldn’t be the first.

I’m still happy to give him time, but as that time goes by I’m becoming less convinced.

Why do people keep going on about Spurs' injury crisis, just like they recently did about Newcastle?
Do they not realise that United have had an injury crisis virtually all the season so far?

Guess it’s what’s classed as an injury crisis

Man Utd have 4 out at the moment

Spurs have 7

It seems ATM to be 2 questions

Have they played for ajax?

Can we overpay for them?

Either of them yes then bingo

Antony and onana were double bubble

Do we have that many top quality keepers who don't make it in the prem? I can't think of many

Four?

Maguire, Mount, Shaw, Malacia, Martial, Lindelof. That’s six. Casemiro only on the bench today having been out two months. Martinez got his first run out since September.

I think you’re playing down the United injury situation just a little, Phil.

Being a GK in the Prem is a step up from the likes of Serie A etc - it’s a step up in pace and intensity as well as having to concentrate for the whole 90mins - Onana is prob just like Tiabi etc - prob ok in those leagues where it’s more pedestrian but just not good enough for the Prem

Just going by this 🤷‍♂️

And Martial has a cold 😂

Most teams have suffered through injuries, Newcastle the most and Spurs have lost a few key ones as have Man Utd and most other teams

In other news I see Sancho got himself involved for Dortmund getting an assist nice and early

Martial has been unavailable for at least a couple of weeks, as he has been for a lot of the season, so hardly fit!

I had a count two or three weeks ago and there were at least ten players who I would expect to feature on matchday who were unavailable, mainly through injury.

I’m not suggesting other teams haven’t had issues, but we’ve barely been able to populate the bench for weeks. And that’s on top of a significantly weakened starting line up.

But I’m certainly not naive enough to think the problems don’t run far deeper at United than the injury list, and I am tiring of hearing Ten Hag trot that out as an excuse every week.
