There isn’t.
There is, just there's variations to the inelligble rule as posted.

Due to the complexities of transfers and loaned players in particular, there are different punishments to breaking the rule.

I know the layman will say "fielding an inelligble player is breaking the rule regardless" but its a bit like breaking the speed limit on a road. There's different levels of punishments.

Yes but they ultimately played an ineligible player and the starting point should be your out!
Any further punishment “to fit the crime “ should be added.
Just my opinion.

That is effectively what is happening here though, the punishment fits the crime.

The only difference is that your minimum punishment of for a club to get booted out of the competition. Whereas the rules have a lesser minimum punishment, and getting booted out of the competition is a higher level of punishment to "fit the crime"

We might get a bit of a new manager bounce - then the players will down tools again when things aren't going our way and the cycle repeats.

it's been this way at Forest (and other clubs; See Watford)
for years.

And Marinakis has a terrible track record at appointing good managers. Olympiacos have had 6 managers in less than 2 years 😅

............................ and Manchester United.

I expect Arsenal to win on Saturday but a great game between 2 good sides.
Dunno, Emery sets his teams up in a way thats difficult to breakdown with possession play. His teams are usually undone by quick breaks or balls over the top catching the midfield out or bypassing them altogether.

I remember watching Barca play Sevilla at the Pizjuan, I think it was 2014 (could have been a cup game), Sevilla went 2-0 up comfortably nullifying Barca’s tiki-taka by press and track methods, really closing out the spaces and options. Half time came and Moreno obviously clicked as to what was happening. Second half Barca started bypassing midfield, playing longer balls and putting crosses in more direct. This was where Sevilla started to concede and it ended 2-2.

If Villa set up like they did last night and counter the pass and move with that energetic press/stifle then I can see you getting a result. Arsenal have shown on multiple occasions this, and end of last season, that they don't like being pressurised.

As with Sevilla (and I say this only on limited viewing of Villa this season) that they are more likely to be done by long ball merchants than they are by possession based attacking. But again, I could be wrong as what I have seen is limited to a few live games and extended highlights.

Give us our 10 points back and we would be 10th, definitely improving under Dyche, might not be pretty but it's certainly effective

You’ve been playing decent football for a little while to be fair. No way Everton need to worry about relegation this season, despite the loss of points. Best side by a distance tonight.

This is shaping up to be the most ridiculous Premier League season.

Man United have, by some distance, been the poorest United side I have seen for several years. Really, really bad.

Yet, as things stand, we sit 6th in the table, only three points behind City, with a goal difference of zero.

If we ever actually start playing well, who knows what might happen?

And here I was, thinking that it was golf which was a stupid game.

Bonkers.
