Great result. Hopefully the ladies can deliver again on Sunday.
It was nice to be sat watching with some very quiet Aussies

Why stop there? Let's have something from Japan, Nigeria and North Korea that also have no relevance to today's English women's team.Instead of the Lionesses could we have the England Enyas.
Name stems from the Irish Gaelic name Eithne, which is sometimes Anglicized as Enya, meaning “ardent” and “little fire”. It is also thought to be a shortened version of the Greek name Eirene, meaning “peace”.
Is Harry Maguire the new Gareth Bale, fighting for his place but never looking like he’ll get in? Good on him for the self-belief but is he chasing the impossible?

You lied to me! You said Flappy was going to play.![]()
I think Bale had more pace?
We've been linked to a young striker named Gift Orban who's on a goal a game in Belgium. That's the sort of player we're restricted to really - bit of a gamble. Sort of player you'd expect Brighton to sign.
Have seen half-arsed links to Lukaku but nothing concrete. I think he would be a decent shout. He'd certainly score more than Richarlison with our current Ange-ball style.
I'm sure we have too many foreign players and not enough home growns as it is though. Do they still not count if they're under 21?Looked dangerous when we played them in Europa conference but failed to score
Pure pace tho
As with Bale its probably more like “ if someone doesn’t offer me the same wages I’m going nowhere”Is Harry Maguire the new Gareth Bale, fighting for his place but never looking like he’ll get in? Good on him for the self-belief but is he chasing the impossible?

& why should he?
They gave him the contract![]()

I do get that.
Players sign contracts not just because they want to have lots of games of football. It is their profession. They sign them to get paid as well as they can, and can guarantee a secure income for as many years as possible. Otherwise they'd just happily play for about £40,000 - £50,000 a week, live a comfortable life and play football. If they get dropped, just move to another club that has no issue with paying those types of numbers.
Harry Maguire is 30 now. Even if he went to West Ham, still no guarantee he'll keep getting picked for England if another young CB bursts onto the scene, although it does probably increase his odds.
And, maybe he does have ambition. It is unlikely he'll get a transfer to another of the biggest clubs in the world, so staying at Man Utd may be is only opportunity at playing for a top club, who can potentially compete for the top prizes. He may be hoping that, if Utd sort out their attacking play, and most importantly their possession play, then things will suddenly get a whole lot easier for the defence. And, if he can edge his way back into the team, whether it be because of injuries or just better play by him, then maybe he thinks he can push for a starting position again?
In that respect, I don't blame Maguire. If anyone is to blame, it is Man Utd for giving him that contract in the first place I suppose.
It'll be interesting to see what position Chelsea are in in a few years, with all these long contracts. What if some of these players end up being useless, how easy will it be to offload them??? At least to clubs outside of Saudi Arabia. I see Lukaku is on £325,000 a week, and his contract is until 2026.
Isn’t this a consequence of stupid contracts in football now.He needs to go, Brian. Fighting for his place is one thing but, given where he is in the pecking order, surely he needs to show ambition to be playing regularly by biting the bullet and moving on.
If that means him being only filthy rich instead of stinking filthy rich then so be it. I’m sure he’ll cope.
Prob a better defender as well!I think Bale had more pace?
