Raya, keeper, has gone from Brentford to Arsenal. Seems an odd one. He is too good to be a number 2, I thought Arsenal were happy with Ramsdale? Are they looking to move him on?

Please, stop embarrassing yourself by adding these completely unsubstantiated comments after everything. Your inability to discuss football without ridiculous hyperbole shows you up time and time again.

It’s stuff like this why no one takes your opinions on football seriously even when you made good points.

What was that about hyperbole 🤔

And I’m pretty happy in the opinion that if it did happen at the other end then Man Utd fans would be screaming for a penalty and the “attitude” would be vastly different

History has taught us all that “tunnel vision” and Red or blue or purple specs when viewing incidents that affect their team always get seen in the light that favours their own team

Hence why on the whole the Man Utd fans on here say it’s not a penalty and even disputing the reaction of the PGMOL

It would prob be easier and gain a bit more understanding to say - yep we got away with that instead of paragraphs of finding a way to justify it

Anyway your posting appears familiar? Been here before ? From NZ ?

I explained my hyperbole afterwards.

And no, you’re selective in what you pass off as other’s views and in reality what you’re doing is showing your own bias.

Would home fans be screaming for a penalty? Of course they would.

Would they all believe it should have been one? Of course not.

There are pundits and ex footballers saying it wasn’t a penalty. You ignore these because it doesn’t suit you.

And no, I’ve no idea why you think I’m from New Zealand.

Textbook error selecting two defenders from the same team. Not sure why you would ever do that.

With you on Nunez though. I've gone for him at 7.5 as I was expecting him to push on this season.
This is the Draft league, not the normal one. And I don't have 2 defenders from one team, as I also have Luke Shaw  . Ohhh, and Onana

After the second or 3rd pick, most of the obviously great players had gone, and so it became slim pickings. I guess I subconsciously edged towards Utd players as I know them better, and towards end of draw I was like "ohhhh noooooo, I've 7 Utd players in my squad....."

My first pick was De Bruyne, which looks to have been a shocker as well.

An expensive spare though. I'd have thought there are better areas to strengthen or back up. Unless he doesn't fancy Ramsdale long term.
Hasn’t Arteta said he wants two players of similar quality for all positions before? For me, Raya should be number one, but I’d imagine he’ll have to play his way into that spot.

May be a sensible move in a rising market. You have 2 strong options, one goes and you are fine. You have one option who leaves, everyone ramps up the prices again as they know you are desperate.

I believe you are talking about me and what I've had to say? Are you saying I speak on behalf of ALL Man Utd fans, or are you just talking garbage again?

If you read my comments, I have also pointed out that it was a subjective decision, and I've simply been laying out the case why the officials chose not to award the penalty. I'm assuming they are not Man Utd fans?

I’ll just pass off what I believe to be my opinion and belief if that’s ok 👍

I’m not sure I have been able to listen or watch every single pundit and ex footballer on what there view so I’m not sure how I can ignore something I haven’t seen or heard - the only two people I have listened to about it - Ex rangers and ex Villa - both said it was a clear penalty.

But it’s gone now - imo Utd got away with one , the mistake has been acknowledged and we will await the next “mistake”

Ah ok, draft is a bit different - I suppose you take what you can get. You still don't really want to be that reliant on one single team to defend well though I'd thought.

Bad luck on KDB. He was in my FPL team also. Have now switched him for Luis Diaz.

It was pointed out to you on this thread that Carragher seemed to show acceptance of it not being a penalty.

I imagine you don’t know who he played for.

Bad news for City - KDB ruled out for 4 months , that’s going to be a huge miss for them but time for Foden to step in ?

Chelsea also now getting Olise, it seems. They have some superb accountants.

OK not the usually most reliable of people but i heard Simon Jordan's explanation of how it works and it makes some sense with the maths he used. Whilst not no allowed now, the offset from the long contracts last year coupled with the money brought in from sales basically kicks the FFP can down the road and it remains sustainable so long as there is a future increase in income or continued profits from transfer sales (Mount, for example, counted as 100% profit as he was academy). It is a big loophole but by the definition I heard, one that sounds perfectly legit.

I read an article yesterday that tried to rationalise it and from what I could gather, it's all fine and dandy in the here and now, but they have to raise something like £250m in the next financial year or the house of cards collapses.

By my reckoning, that means they need to a) win something AND b) have a run in Europe (which they don't have).

It all seems like, as GB72 says, this is a can kicking exercise but it looks like the whole lot is going to come down around their ears sooner rather than later methinks.

Not sure Ramsdale was looking to leave though. If you have a good keeper they tend to stay. Not much keeper movement usually. They also don't tend to injure that often.

I get having a decent squad, back ups etc but 2 x first team keepers is pretty unusual and seems a bit excessive ( @TimShady I should have copied in your reply here but this is fine). If you think of the other top teams, who is the number 2? Even if you could name them, good pub quiz question, are they really competing for the no 1 jersey or are they really just emergency back up?

Arsenal can do what they like, it just seems an odd one to me 🤷‍♀️

January fire sale? Summer fire sale next year? All seems pretty reckless with the future of the club.

Let’s see they’ll get a lovely sponsorship out of the blue from a company linked by proxy to their owners a la Man City and all will be well with the world.
