They are beyond awful. Yet again I’m struggling to see what plan they came with this evening. Unless, of course, Lampard was simply planning to see his side get royally battered by a side which itself has been less than convincing for large parts of the season.

Chelsea are just in complete and utter disarray. It’s going to be one hell of a task sorting the mess out.
Lampard did little more than I did in helping Chelsea tonight. He just sat in stand looking gormless, every time I saw him anyway

Certainly is a long way away from the days when Chelsea and Utd were dominating the Prem and fighting for CL’s

The worst finish for Chelsea in 30 years I believe it is and after the biggest summer transfer spend in history

And Utd will need to do a lot of recruitment in the summer to handle CL.

I know I’m starting to sound like a bit of a cracked record, but his appointment was mystifying when it was made, and it remains mystifying now.

He was a proven loser at Everton. Chelsea legend or not, the club needed someone to steady the ship and restore some confidence and belief. And Lampard patently wasn’t that man. Everyone could see it apart from the misty eyed, blinkered Chelsea faithful who regarded his appointment as the second coming of the messiah.

Todd Boehly is a disaster. If I was a Chelsea fan I’d want him as far away from my club as possible as soon as is humanly possible. For many years we have all accused the likes of United, City and even Chelsea of buying success. The current Chelsea are living proof that no amount of money makes a jot of difference unless it’s wisely spent, with an underlying plan and a manager with the ability to see that plan through.

Chelsea have the cash. The other elements are nowhere in sight.

This is just how the prem works. Saints, West ham, wolves have all done similar before hand.

Good scouting only works short term. Big clubs buy their positions.
If big clubs buy there positions, that rules out Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs as big clubs, all had aspirations of finishing in the top four.
I wonder how much it will hurt Liverpool not finishing top four re transfer targets.
Chelsea I don’t know where to start.
Ditto with Spurs.
Come what may, it’s going to be an interesting end of season for those clubs and a few others.

When you look at how Newcastle and Chelsea have kicked on since there buy outs, the difference is astonishing.
Newcastle have gone from strength to strength. Chelsea are in dire straights. Is that down to the owners. I am Convinced it is.
That said, it will be interesting at Utd to see how that pans out once the preferred bidder is chosen.

I know Chelsea are getting a hard time but I don’t think there as far away as people think.
An Experienced Centre half and striker with the youth around them will do well.
Pochettino is a great manager and if he has the job will raise the standards around the club.
They will be in the Champions league next season, hopefully not the kiss of death 😂😂

They have lost 16 times this season and are miles from the top teams

They did well because they had a top class manager - sacking him because he didn’t want the players they signed

They have silva at CB plus spent £100mil on a CB with years of CL experience, plus a CB with years of Prem experience in Koulibaly and Fofana

Chelsea will be nowhere near the top teams until Boehly moves away from having to do with anything football wise - Pochettino won’t be able to do much until they get a proper DoF in

They are a mile off it now but in my opinion they are a much better side than they are showing.
With a couple of good signing (seems mad saying that) they will be top 4 next season.

They will have to offload a lot of players first before they even think of bringing any others in - they have already got another wide forward coming in -£60mil for Nkunku ( injured again )

They have big issues there and whilst Pochettino is a decent manager he will need a good few seasons to sort it out- not sure they have the paitence to allow that

I agree with this. Remember how Utd were half a team and 4 years from top 4? A couple of key signings, a top manager, and the ship is quickly corrected. Chelsea have lots of good players, they are just missing someone key up top and a manager to get hold of the mess and give some structure.
