The first half was typical Leicester. Okay until they concede, then they totally implode. Defensively absolutely shocking, as they have been for a long time.

I’m well aware of all that, Phil.

But does Kane drop deep because those around him do not have the ability to get on the ball and create? Or does he do it because that’s just the sort of player he is and it’s simply in his DNA? Don’t forget he does exactly the same in an England shirt despite the national side having the likes of Bellingham and Foden pulling the creative strings.

Kane only started dropping deep last season really when pep was interested and he was auditioning for the role in a pep team

I’m not saying he wouldn’t.

I’ve more than made my point. I’m not asking or expecting others to agree with it.
I will agree with you. What is impressive about Haaland is that he is hardly involved in the build up. He don’t go looking for the ball to create, he has players who do that for him. What he reminds me of is a keeper who has nowt to do for most of the game then has that one shot to save and you win 1–0 coz of the save. Haaland does nowt for an age and next thing he has scored. His mental strength to be switched on must be immense.

I'm guessing ten Hag would like a striker who can drop deep and get involved in build up play as well.

If he was looking for a striker who would just stay up front and put ball in the net, he may well have been happy to keep and play with Ronaldo this season, and look for another fox in the box for next season?

Of course, you definitely make a very good point about the price tag. If Kane was to express his desire to leave, would Levy ask for crazy money.
City have a saying for Pep. “ In Pep we trust”. Ave seen enough from ETH that makes me think he should be trusted in who he wants to lead the line next season. Also in who will be shown the door.

Well, for Everton and Forest fans......it's in our own hands now, 2 games to go. Based on the season so far, it's as much as we could ask for.
Wolves makes me nervous, they’re on a good run. And Leeds could draw Hammers. Ugh. I’d much rather it was in someone else’s hands. 😬

On another note, spare a thought for Pogba at Juve, nigh on missed all season and was subbed 20 odd mins into his return game with a thigh strain that rules him out for the rest of the season.

Solid performance, lots of good stuff and finishing the season well - think it won’t be enough to grab a top 4 spot but you never know. Some good signs for next season with a few additions in the summer can see us going again for trophies. Konate is going to be a beast for us. Outstanding CB

Thankfully looks like we have avoided the Euro Conference

Quite. And I’d happily see that in a striker, Tash. His priority is to be where it matters, when it matters. And all too often United have nobody in that position.

If you watch Rashford closely you will see that, when a cross comes in, he very rarely makes a run across his man to the near post. He’ll invariably hang back at the far post hoping for a defensive mistake. That just isn’t the behaviour of an instinctive goal scorer. It’s a small criticism of him, but a valid one. Far too often in the last few seasons United have absolutely dominated games and had nothing to show for it. It’s hugely frustrating.

I’m old fashioned. I like a striker like Van Nistelrooy. He did minimal work outside the opposition third of the field but, my word, did he know where the back of the net was! Haaland is the closest I’ve seen to that type of player in the years since RVN left.

Lost 2, won 1 in their last 3. Wolves are drifting with nothing to play for. That could mean playing with freedom or being on the beach 🤷‍♂️.

West Ham are a worry. 2 big games and their priorities are elsewhere.

Leeds will beat us. It's a nothing game now. We get through to final thats it. Only 13 goal swing can see us drop

Don't say that... I'm going on Sunday, for some reason my father in law has influenced my 10 year old enough that he follows the irons now. Hopefully he'll grow out of it 😉

Ah! I’d misremembered Wolves form. LWLWL, let’s just hope they break that oscillating pattern they’re in then. 😀

I’m not sure I’d criticise Rashford for that. He’s playing his natural game. Haaland is playing his natural game, as is Kane. Can any of them change, and if they do will they be playing to their weaknesses? Rhetorical questions maybe but valid?
