His legs look to have gone
Looks a mile off the pace imo.
I think it is a smart move, won’t cost a fortune and it looks like Brighton will be playing european football next season so they have an Englishman with European football experience who can play FA and League cup games. Just to add Brighton have just confirmed a £30 million deal for a Watford striker.

15 goals and 5 assists with limited game time… sounds like he’s not done too bad.

He is different to what we normally have and clearly is taking time to adapt but has still put some very good games in and managed to get himself some goals. Still learning but his pace keeps putting himself into great positions. Got some great options going forward. Far from being anywhere near a flop

Think Milner is a solid free transfer for them - especially when they will prob play in Europe , still one of the fittest around and will provide great experience, was hoping he signed for one more year for us
I'm not sure he has made it in time for any tackle so far this season. That isn't going to get better one year further on.

He has been a great pro and would be a good signing for a Sheffield United or equivalent. I think Brighton are more advanced than that, hence the surprise.

Interesting opinion.

As a Man Utd fan, I actually don't mind him too much. He is almost constantly looking for the ball, never really seems to go missing, and will never be shy to take people on. It often means 2 or 3 defenders try and team up on him to stop him. When things go well, he does a great job of unlocking defences, and creating space for others.

Of course, he can be frustrating as well. He can get in positions to create chances, but can often hit a really tame shot (not often he scores the screamer into the far corner), and his lack of a right foot has been well documented. And, he has a short fuse.

I can think of several Brazilians who have been worse in my eyes. Anderson and Kleberson for Man Utd. Robinho seemed to be a bit of a let down? Richarlison has been a big flop this season. There are probably a host of other Brazilians, who maybe played for clubs lower down in PL, are lived most of their time on the bench, and therefore I can't even remember them to name them.

Agreed.

I think it’s very easy to regard Antony as a flop because of the price tag, but to those who actually watch him regularly, he is nowhere near as bad as the nay sayers suggest.

Like Fernandes he is a bit of a pantomime villain in the eyes of opposition fans, but this is his first season. There has been a lot of good.

Just listening a Spurs fan on the way home on good old Talksport and he was stating that Allardyce is in the top 10 of managers in the Prem

They listed 10 managers and this is who he said Fat Sam was better than

Tuchel
Ancelotti
Conte
Mourinho !!! 😂😂😂
Klopp 😂😂
Raneri

The only managers he said were better were

Pep
Ferguson
Wenger

😂😂😂😂😂

Totally agree, looks like his legs can’t do what his brain tells them to.
It happens to players at the end of their career.

Got to hand it to you Phil, you’re great at putting a positive spin on anything Liverpool.
But would you be so positive if he played for anyone else?

I think he’s been very average this year. He might still be the fittest/fastest in training but his timing for tackles is questionable. I thought he might drop to the championship next season but, I guess, wiser heads than mine think he still has something to offer.

Lots of rumblings about MacAllister joining Liverpool for £60-70mil

Seems a very good player the times I have seen him play , looks very much a Klopp type midfielder

Brightons recruitment is remarkable. They will prob sell Caicedo at some point as well

Mac Alister cost around £6mil

Caicedo cost around £4.5mil

Two players who cost £10mil will prob bring them in £140mil

That’s on top of the money they earned from Cucurella , Bissoma , Trossard and White

Their scouting network is superb

And they have that young Paraguayan that looks like will be a proper talent.

Just a really, really well run club. And one that happens to be playing some great football at the moment. Long may it continue.

Makes me wonder why the “top teams”don’t pick these players up earlier & save paying the big money.

Just a warning, don't get too excited about Mac Alister just yet, as we know what happened after you thought Bellingham was a dead cert for Liverpool not so long ago 😉

If he wasn't injured, then sounds like Klopp is losing it as a manager then. Would Liverpool have been in as bad a position if he had given him more game time?

As someone looking in from the outside, I would never say he is a bad player, or rule him out of having a big impact in next few years. But, feels like a disappointing opening season, where is appears the manager still doesn't have complete faith in him for quite a few games, preferring to use other players

I think the midfield is the problem for us.
it dosnt protect the back four Enough.
it dosnt overpower teams anymore.

Nunez was played wide until Dias or Jota was back.
I expect next season he will play down the middle more with Gakpo behind him.
But must say his finishing needs to improve, he does slash at chances.
