The owners don’t invest their own money

The club is self sufficient- any money it’s spends is money that comes into the club from revenues

We have loans to rebuild the stadium

It’s the model that’s been there since they bought the club

We don’t get held up by debt or owners money

Then I'd expect 10 years of hurt coming your way.

Its a spending league now.

Read your last few posts! What position is Liverpool in in the PL and why! Oh, and take off the rose tinted glsses! Or is the league position down to poor management? It has to be one or the other!

Was it flawed when we won the league and multiple other trophies

It does require very smart recruiting but some times teams have poor seasons , it happens ,there are multiple reasons for clubs to struggle and these days a team has to be near perfect

Why ? It’s been a spending league for decades and we have still managed to compete and win

Compete over the last 5 years and win it once yeah. So the same as Leicester.

You went through a real purple patch in recruitment which led you to a brilliant squad of players that worked well together, you'll be lucky to replicate that without high spending. Its almost impossible.

It’s a little bit more than just winning it once over the last 5 years - but that would mean looking at each season , yes we won tbe title just once we also got within a point twice , won the CL , plus two further finals and two other trophies

And unless I’m mistaken what happens in the future is undecided yet. We could just as easily recruit well in the summer and go again

I'd suggest 'Yes, it was flawed'! Just not so obvious as it is now! From your own description of the issue - players having lost their legs - it isn't going to improve, so some buying and selling will be required to rebound! That will require some serious capital investment! As it is, the value of the club is being eroded by both the team's poor performances AND the drop in value of the worn-out players!

I mean the sky bar sounds pretty damn cool :ROFLMAO:
It does, doesn't it. Initially I saw the increase in capacity and wondered if that was really justifiable. When you read the article it becomes so much more that that.

The club will buy players and sell players in the summer , it will be up to the recruitment team to make sure they are at the level needed

And i suspect the value of the club won’t change due to a poor season

I said you competed, that wasn't a dig. Without Liverpool those few years would have been mega dull walkovers and you did a great job of giving them a run for their money, but in 15 years no one will remember how many times you came second.

And yeah you could recruit well, but I don't think you're going to achieve a miracle and be straight back in to the top 2.

Liverpool were uncompetitive in the Premier League for well over a decade. In fact, for probably about 25 years. You then hit a purple patch, where the stars aligned, and you had a good spell.

I expect there could well be a chance that Liverpool could improve again. Klopp has proven himself as a good manager, and there are still players in the team with talent. But, there is no guarantee. Perhaps Klopp is burnt out, and needs a fresh challenge. Perhaps some of the players are past their best. Perhaps Liverpool will not manage to bring in the missing pieces of the jig saw. By the time Liverpool need to rebuild their squad, and maybe manager, why would their odds of doing that successfully be higher than a host of other clubs that have to do the same, but can maybe spend more money doing so?
