Not sure how that was the for neutral.... But what an appalling way to spend a couple of hours that was.
It seemed more like two teams that didn’t want to concede rather than two teams that wanted to score. Thought Chelsea edged it but the result helps neither team. Purgatory to watch.

I watched. And I will go to bed this evening with no clue how Liverpool beat United 7-0.

I get their away form is average at best, but even having said that Liverpool are a shadow of what they were even a year ago.

Awful game of football.

Not a great game but poor quality finishing ruined the game. I didnt get to see it all but what I did see was Chelsea squander some good chances.

I said at the beginning of the year v City in the community shield they could be got at. But the fall this year is remarkable. I know there is loads of reasons as to why but I am at a loss trying to put my finger on it. Liverpool had a style of play that destroyed teams but it just don’t seem there this season. Is it down to Liverpool being found out or Liverpool just being poor. Ne T season will be interestin, especially when it comes to recruitment.

By the lack of posts I think they didn’t watch.
but agree.
I looked at the form and decided that Alan Carr, Design Challenge, and the last episode of Unforgotten on record was a better bet. Redesigning some huts in Eastbourne and catching a murderer, I think I made the right choice 😄

We’re trying to play the way we always have ,especially at the back .
But we just don’t have the players . They look burnt out And picking up injuries.

The midfield is average at best, how many would get a game at City, none imo.
No creativity and don’t protect the back four.

City had it spot on Grealish and Marhrez wide on the byline showed how narrow we are.
we needed to recruit a Replacement for Henderson but who knows what will happen if we fail to get top four

Because on that day United we’re the worst team I have ever seen in the club!
if it hit a Liverpool player on the backside it was a goal.
just one of those days.

I watched us play Tottenham on Monday, I couldn't take two games of that quality in successive nights

To be fair, I watched the first 10 minutes of your game before my wife came in. Chelsea created chances but wanted to walk them in. Both teams looked devoid of confidence, both need the season to end and do a reset.

That to me is why they are playing like they are. Look at Mane at Bayern this year, a shadow of his last years performance.

Imo you are spot on

The last 5 seasons have taken their toil on the squad and especially last season playing every single game. Add in the shortened pre season it’s not a surprise that players are flagging

Going toe to toe with City takes it toll and think Arsenal will suffer next season. And it’s going ti go in cycles

Steve Cooper odds on being next Premiership Manager to leave 1/6.

The bookies are usually correct and whilst I have no allegiance to Forest I feel he has done a tremendous job for them to have accumulated the points they have.

I think you can add to that the fact that one or two of the players are starting to look their ages now, and they simply cannot play the sort of style of football which Klopp wants.

All of which does lead me to ask a question of Klopp. If the squad is a year older, and some of the regulars a little more leggy, why have those areas not been strengthened with new signings, or the style of play adapted to suit the players at his disposal?

Klopp is not entirely without blame.

Why did it take 5 years for Liverpool to suffer but Arsenal are going to do so after 1 year? With a much much younger squad too?

We suffered the 3rd year as well when we lost a lot through injury - Arsenal have managed to play the same core throughout the season thats given them a solid consistent continuity, next season with the added CL it’s going to add pressure on the squad , unless they bring in a load of quality mids and back line then it’s going to be tough to keep the same level going every season. Arsenal still need to get over the line this season

You’re not wrong pal. People forget (quickly) that not only did he have to contest with being a newly promoted side (a difficult task in and of itself), he also had 30 new signings that the board gave him (many of which weren’t players he chose) and the worst injury record in the league (by some margin).

A sad day if this is the end. I’ll never forget the last 18 months, it’s been magical.

Watch him get snapped up by Leicester and keep them up. 😩😂

Money is a key reason - the owners have a method of just spending what we make and stick to that , they also have their targets and are stubborn waiting for them. They made a choice to spend this years money on refreshing the front line with the belief the middle will last another season.
