And another Watford manager gets the sack.......

Christopher John Wilder (born 23 September 1967) is an English professional football manager and former player who played as a right-back. He was most recently the manager of EFL Championship club Middlesbrough, before being appointed the 3000th manager of Watford in March, 2023.

I am a fan of Ally McCoist as a co-commentator. However, is he actually a pundit on BT and ITV? I can't ever remember seeing him analysing the games before, after or at half-time. Enjoy listening to him on Talksport as well. To be honest, I also quite like Stuart Pearce, and on the way home from work Darren Bent and Andy Goldstein are a good duo.
Stuart Pearce is one of those players that If he played for your team you would have his name on your shirt. If he played against you, you wanted to kick his head in. But as a manager, he was complete and utter rammel for City. It was purgatory. I knew a ladies coach and at the time she was one of the best in the country. She works at Wolverhampton wanderers. She has been all over the world coaching via the FA and has been on numerous coaching courses with Phsyco. She has never met a more dedicated person who is willing to learn. I was at his last game when he played for City V Portsmouth. Pearcy had a penalty to score his 100th goal and the twazzock missed.

He told a story that he was picking a side for the weekends game, when he was new to management. Over dinner, he went through it with his wife. She informed him that he had a starting line up of 12 players.

I thought he forgot to pick a keeper, that was the version I heard.

I may be very wrong, you know my limited knowledge, but weren't West Ham decent when he was in Moyes coaching staff and really not so good when he was not for a while and again when he left.

Maybe he took one of the 12 players off the line up, but didn't realise it was the keeper :)

I'd heard it was the keeper missing as well. Maybe the story has evolved over time 🤷‍♂️.

Like many players, maybe he is a good coach, not so good manager? More should recognise their strengths as coaches and stick with that. Nothing wrong with that.

Agree. Has to be one of the best. Henry will always top that list, personally. But he's earned his place in the top bracket with Shearer, Kane (sadly, but the goals speak for themselves!), Rooney, Lampard, Aguero, KDB, Cole etc.

Shocking VAR decision in Chelsea game.
how’s that encroaching when the Chelsea player is in the box the most.
Because the encroaching defender impacted the game. Had it fallen to the Chelsea player instead, free kick would be to Dortmund

Edit: I assumed the Dortmund player encroached, as I heard Walton say so. Didn't actually focus on that player myself when I saw the 1 replay. Mind you, Walton initially said it wasn't a penalty, then when VAR called review, he changed his mind. Not sure why I trusted his assessment
