Whilst out practising this evening I was on the tee of our 3rd hole a 205 yard downhill Par 3 with a strong wind coming in from right to left. I crushed a 5 iron with a slight draw going right-centre of the green when the wind caught the ball pulling it way left behind 2 trees about 40 foot from the green.

That was my shot if you look just to the right of the tree you can see the yellow flagstick, with no other alternative I tried an ambitious flop/lob shot that I just caught perfectly and with a bit of side spin my ball ended up a Foot and half from the hole (Zoom in to see) The only trouble is, THE COURSE WAS EMPTY!!! No one was around to see the most skilful shot that I've ever pulled Intentionally

This is why I took the picture to post on here so others can see it. I realise that it's quite cocky but I think I deserve it!!

It says in your signature that you play Srixon balls but that looks like a Titleist ball on the green to me.

Sorry mate, think you played the wrong ball.....2 shot penalty :ears:

Very very nice shot. Nothing wrong with a bit of self congratulation every now and then, plus your strong memory of it will help you the next time you have to play a similar shot.

However, for maximum plaudits you need a system to remember your left from your right. ;) :p

Fixed it

Funnily enough it was a Pro V1 that I had found on my last day out!! I'm now considering changing Balls!!

what club did you use? i do enjoy throwing the ball way up like that too. only do it in competitions when absolutly necessary but try it all they time when im out practising.

Opened up the face of my 60° wedge aimed my feet left and my club on the target, I was fortunate enough to have quite a cushy lie trodden on grass all pointing in the same direction towards the green. Although it was slightly downhill which only added to the difficulty

lovely shot. i hope you made the putt! i spoke to your mate mark last week. hes playing off 11.5 atm. we have a friendly 5er bet on to see who can get the lowest by the end of the summer. hes my rival now!

Yeah I made the putt!
Should be a good contest between you and Mark though he's a good putter and all around short game is quite good do I'd watch out for that. He's not a big hitter though, only a wee fella!!

we are quite evenly matched. im not a big hitter either. its my short game thats good. dont worry, ill have him! lol

should be good fun. ill keep you up to date on how its going sure! have you got your handicap yet? i dont see it in your sig!

good man! thats what i started last year on. hows the new TM driver going for you? im using a titlest 975J that my brother had in the garage. been using it as its a 9.5 and the added loft is easier to keep under control in these recent windy conditions!

It's good that the lob was on, looking at it though depending on exactly where your ball was you may have had the option of playing a bump and run onto the front right of the green (either right of the trees or between them).

Me thinks he would thin it. Totally different with a card in your back pocket. And he plays off 16, so the chances of him replicating that shot are slim. Its a strange thing to do, to take a picture of a shot you have just played.

I did play off 10 last summer but stopped playing for the winter so my club had to put my Handicap back up to 16. Don't get so high and mighty how do we know that you aren't some glorified 28 handicap? You have never mentioned it. As for my short game capabilities it is the strongest part of my game along with my iron play. You've never seen me play so you don't know what I'm like, I don't know what your like and don't really care

the ball sitting up on the rough makes this shot a goer! if it was a tight lie then he would have been in trouble. getting it as close as he did requires an element of luck.
