Had a sniff around the EV market yesterday. Went to MG, Hyundai, Kia, Skoda, Nissan. I'm familiar with Audi stuff.

MG cars better than I thought. Nissan's Ariya was very nice. I would guess the QQ full electric variant will be years away as not to kill off the Ariya.

Hyundai and Skoda were OK.

Most impressive were Kia. Good range of EV vehicles, from small to large. The large being the brand new EV9. Very impressed with this...half the price of Range Rovers and Discoverys and I'd wager just as good. The EV6 GT was very nice and could be future replacement for my Audi.

I'd like to see the Polestar and Fisker offerings.

I m very impressed by the Kia.. (hurts to say, but over Tesla) … was almost into it.

Then saw the BMW iX line up (except the iX3 which is lipstick on a ICE pig rubbish) .. the iX is one hell of an interior. shame about the pricing and front grille

My neighbour has a fresh new iX3. Inside and out looks better than the pics, helped by a few trim colour choices outside. Fairly swift. Would I have one? I haven’t seen inside an iX model yet, but I prefer the Kias.

Tesla are a great car. Especially if you need to travel long distance because they put the effort in for the charge network

However the build quality isnt the best , and they also made them ridiculously fast so insurance likes to be higher

I am in love with the Kia 4 niro EV, it's got a frunk (to throw the charge cables in) a boot that looks big enough to have golf clubs width ways , an auto closing and opening boot .. heated and vented seats

Just nice touches

Power front passenger seat that has an instant recline function for when you charge is a nice touch

The EV9 is immense, probably twice the size of a Niro. Sat inside it. It’s cavernous! Back seats that rotate 180 so they face each other. I’m sure other models do that, but the first I’ve known. Also has fold down two seats at the back, for a total of 7. Quoted range of 350.

The iX3 is the only car in BMW line up that is not a ground up EV.. they used the standard X3 and replaced the internals.

Have a look at the iX .. it is a different beast altogether. The only downside, is storage. It is bonkers that the car of that size has a small boot. Also BMWs don’t have a frunk!!! Absolute own goal by welding the bonnet in .. why??!

Oh god yes that would replace my Alhambra beautifully , just the price tag at the moment but will come down in time I'm sure. Lovely designed car

I’m pretty sure the i4 and the iX1 are not ground up.

In fact I’m positive, having an i4 on order that is almost identical to the current 4 series.

You can say that again:

I can't help feeling that Tesla have a similar attitude to the likes of Apple: "our products are the best and nobody should dare criticise them"
