I'm really enjoying this tournament. We played Carnoustie and Kingsbarns when we were in Scotland in July for The Open. Having played The Old Course back in 1997, these are the three greatest courses I've ever played. Also, attending The Open completed my Grand Fan Slam of attending all four majors. At age 72 this was at the top of my bucket list.

Would love to play in it but alas my lack or millionaire status prevents that!

Enjoying it too, great tournament. Question is though, is there a firing range nearby?

Everybody knows what to expect from St Andrews and Carnoustie, but I have to say Kingsbarns blows me away every time I see pictures and video. It just looks like a wonderful place for golf. If I happen to come into a ludicrous amount of spare money, that's on the list... but my god it's expensive for 4 hours of golf!

Image shows Carnoustie town on the right, Carnoustie Golf Links in the centre and Buddon Ranges on the left.

4 hours on Kingsbarns is a lot cheaper than 4 hours with a decent hooker*. Just an alternative way of looking at it ?

*Other ball flights are available

Kingsbarns is beautiful. The fee was part of the whole package we bought for our Open trip so I don't know what it costs. However, if you can afford it I promise it's well worth the money for a one-time experience.

It's about £360?
That's pretty steep when you consider the caddie fee with tip is around 100lbs. Obviously, not something you would want to do on a regular basis. I'm sure we have courses over here across the pond that are equally as expensive. I paid around $100 to play The Old Course twenty five years ago. My guess is it's probably a lot higher than that today.

Sorry, this tickled me, no offence intended! ?
