take a look at this bunker/gravel pit wrecked my score and my wedge

yes understand that but surely you can post that without throwing insults at other posters !

yes question the poor bunkers - no they wont pay for another wedge and Pros wouldnt play on courses with bunkers like that.

No insult thrown at a single person just the ones who come with the pathetic reply... Do not go in bunkers!!! I'm guessing you where one of them?

Why even post on the thread if it's just nonsense?

You have missed the point totally

People will have differing opinions etc as they do in this thread and people will post them - you are fully entitled to post a differing opinion but surely you can do that without the need to throw insults at poster - pathetic human beings ! - can you not just post a differing opinion without the desire to throw a cheap childish insult in there ?

Is there really any need.

And yes i believe that a bunker is a hazard and it should always be a challenge to get out of them.

Is this not somewhat insulting or trying to create a negative reaction?

Stop talking nonsense and whining when someone pulls you up on it

No its called banter as seeing Homer post strict posts.

Slightly different to calling people "pathetic human beings"

Anyway the point has been made.

Like other parts of the course tho Phil if they not up to standard they should GUR the area until it is , being in the bunker is not the problem here , condition of the bunker is

Ohhhh its banter because you said it...

I said pathetic human beings while winking, oppps you can't see me winking? Bad luck it was intended as banter

No mate Phil's right us amateur golfers should have the game to avoid the bunkers ... They must be designed only for the pros who are 1000 times better than us!!!

Yes it certainly looks like there is something wrong with it - be interesting to see what the others are like there and what the rest of that bunker looked like

But the Op can see there is an issue with it - if it isnt marked GUR then the either attempt to play out of it or play an unplayable and then complain about the bunker - but the OP took the chance to play it and got a scratch on his club - asking for a new wedge from committee is laughable at best.

Couldn't disagree with any of that

Please don't quote me or say question the tone I post. I made my point, perhaps over vociferously in hindsight actually and definitely not intending to "shoot anyone down". You seem quite capable of antagonising plenty on here of your own volition so don't drag me into to make cheap points. As I say, I might actually have been a tad OTT

The posts in this thread that suggest not going in bunkers in the first place are utterly ridiculous. Flippant and ridiculous.

Mark, hard lines, these things happen. As some have said, it's a battle scar.

And the profile pic? Not sure if it's weirder if that is you or not....

BOOM!!!

Shot down by the Homer

Whoa there - your post was a bit harsh and i found it amusing thats all ! there was certainly no intent aimed at yourself homer and as you can see through the other posts i wasnt the only one to comment on your post.

Apologies if you thought i was having a pop at you

In case I missed the post , is it possible under the rules to make the decision that the ball is unplayable and take a penalty of one shot and drop the ball outside the bunker?

At the end of the day no one is going to risk injury or damage to their clubs in order to obey a rule that isn't flexible enough to take situations like these into account.

As per the R&A page below, anywhere but water hazards you can call the ball unplayable:
